This is a full-time position with the opportunity to grow a career in the Coal Industry.\nAs a Coal Quality Tester, you will support the day-to-day operations of the Physical Testing Laboratory. You’ll play a key role in ensuring high-quality analytical results, meeting turnaround time targets, and maintaining the highest standards in safety, client service, and productivity.\nDay to Day\nContribute to the development, review, and continual improvement of quality systems and procedures\n\nSorting bags of samples (weighing up to 16kg)\n\nOperating sample preparation equipment (weighing scales, crushers, pulverisers, etc.)\n\nPerforming routine manual tasking in a coal processing environment\n\nProcess samples efficiently without compromising accuracy or quality\n\nPerform general laboratory duties, including cleaning and maintenance of work areas\n\nEnsuring that all work is carried out in a safe and efficient manner and to agreed standard operating instructions\n\nA range of physical tests including sample preparation, sizing, crushing, dividing and sample storage\n\nHands on physical work\n\nSkills, Experience & Qualifications\nPositive attitude and strong work ethic\n\nAbility to perform physical tasks when required\n\nPrevious coal quality testing experience advantageous but not essential\n\nAbility to successfully pass a pre-employment medical\n\nExcellent written and verbal communication skills\n\nStrong customer service focus and proactive, solutions-based approach\n\nHigh attention to detail and commitment to quality standards\n\nWorking at ALS\nThe ALS team is a diverse and dedicated community united by our passion to make a difference in the world.\nOur values are important to us, and shape how we work, how we treat each other and how we recognise excellence.\nAt ALS, you’ll be supported to develop new skills and reach your full potential.
