We are looking for two Laboratory Assistants to work the following rosters:\nMonday to Friday: 6:00 am to 2:00 pm\nMonday to Friday: 1:30 pm to 9:30 pm\nThis is a residential role, and to be considered, you must currently reside in or near Orange - NSW and have current Australian work rights.\nThe day to day\nWeigh, digest or fuse geological samples for analysis\nMaintain accurate records and documentation\nCalibrate and maintain laboratory instrumentation and equipment as required\nAssess data quality to ensure it meets client reporting standards\nGeneral housekeeping, including:\nCleaning laboratory equipment, glassware and area\nPerform sample preparation and manual handling may be required\nThe essentials\nA tertiary qualification in Chemistry or related field is desirable but not essential\nExperience in a high-production laboratory (highly regarded)\nA basic understanding of analytical chemistry concepts\nAbility to work with minimal supervision\nStrong commitment to safety and adherence to HSE guidelines\nAn enquiring mind and willingness to learn\nFlexibility and ability to work effectively within a team environment\nAbility to multi-task and produce accurate results\nExcellent organisational, time management, and communication skills\nAbility to work the stated rosters continuously, including public holidays and weekends\nWorking at ALS\nThe ALS team is a diverse and dedicated community united by our passion to make a difference in the world.\nOur values are important to us, and shape how we work, how we treat each other and how we recognise excellence.\nAt ALS, you’ll be supported to develop new skills and reach your full potential.
