We strive to exceed client expectations by delivering quality results on time and by maintaining strong relationships.\nWe’re looking for a hardworking and dedicated team member to join our Algae team, to assist with preparing and analysing water samples, interpreting results and ensuring data accuracy through LIMS. Key responsibilities include operating and maintaining biological analysis equipment, meeting strict turnaround times, and adhering to quality and safety standards.\nThe ideal candidate is highly organized, communicates effectively, and thrives both independently and in a collaborative environment.\nThis is apermanent, fulltime, entry level position, Monday to Friday 9:00am to 5:06pm, with an ASAP start!\nThe Day to Day\nWork alongside our Senior Biologist to identify various algal cells across various water matrices.\nPrepare and analyse samples for Chlorophyll testing.\nCarry out allocated laboratory work strictly in line with documented methodologies and procedures.\nPerform daily quality control checks and instrument calibrations to ensure data integrity.\nComplete all analytical work within set timeframes, ensuring results are delivered in accordance with methods and customer expectations.\nImmediately report any issues or uncertainties affecting test performance to the supervisor.\nMonitor stock levels and inform the supervisor when items need replenishing.\nMaintain a clean, safe and organised laboratory environment, ensuring waste is correctly disposed of.\nAccurately complete all documentation with clear and concise handwriting.\nAdhere to all Health and Safety policies and procedures, including manual handling requirements.\nWear and correctly use appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) at all times.\nReport all incidents or near misses to your line manager without delay.\nThe Essentials\nDegree or Technical Diploma in related science discipline, preferably in Biology, Botany, Zoology and/or Microbiology.\nAbility to follow instructions and established procedures with precision.\nStrong attention to detail and the ability to maintain accurate records.\nBasic IT literacy and good written and verbal communication skills.\nAble to work effectively within a team, and autonomously.\nGood organisational skills and the ability to manage your own workspace.\nWorking at ALS\nThe ALS team is a diverse and dedicated community united by our passion to make a difference in the world.\nOur values are important to us, and shape how we work, how we treat each other and how we recognise excellence.\nAt ALS, you’ll be supported to develop new skills and reach your full potential.
