We are seeking several experienced Laboratory Technicians to join our team that strives to exceed client expectations by delivering quality results on time and by maintaining strong relationships with their clients. Successful candidates may have just completed their Science Degree or TAFE Laboratory skills and are looking to utilise their practical laboratory experience in a working laboratory.\nThese roles are fast paced and require you to work at speed with accuracy. Experience in hospitality where you have juggled multiple tasks and followed processes is desirable. \nThe day to day\nPreparation and analysis of soil, water, and sediment - weighing, digesting, titrating, or solvent extraction of samples\nEnsuring that preparation and analytical procedures and associated tasks are conducted in accordance with ALS Quality Work Instructions\nOrganising designated tasks to maximise daily efficiencies\nCompleting all tasks within both the timeframe set by the Supervisor and the relevant analysis standard\nHighlighting anomalies in results and sample type/behaviour\nThe Essentials\nA genuine interest in the Science industry\nEither TAFE or University qualifications\nA desire to work in a high-throughput, client-focused environment, with preference given to those with previous commercial laboratory experience\nExcellent attention to detail, organisational and time management skills\nDedication to good laboratory practices with regard to quality of results and health and safety\nFlexibility to work public holidays and weekend shifts if required\nWillingness to be cross trained in other sections of the laboratory\nDedication to go the extra mile, be solutions driven and ensure there is no compromise on quality \nAdditionally, the following skills and interests are advantageous and desirable:\nA demonstrated interest or personal hobby in areas such as computer building, circuitry, automation, Excel macros, scripting, or 3D printing\nCoding or programming capability (e.g. VBA, Python, R, SQL or similar)\nExposure to or interest in robotics, AI, process automation or digital optimisation\nWorking at ALS\nThe ALS team is a diverse and dedicated community united by our passion to make a difference in the world.\nOur values are important to us, and shape how we work, how we treat each other and how we recognise excellence.\nAt ALS, you’ll be supported to develop new skills and reach your full potential.
