You will be responsible for receiving, preparing, processing, and maintaining soil samples for asbestos analysis in accordance with laboratory procedures, quality requirements, and health and safety standards.\nThis is a casual position and does not have set or guaranteed hours, and we are seeking applicants who can offer flexibility and availability based on business needs.\nThe Day to Day:\nThe successful applicants will undertake a range of duties including the following:\nPrepare soil samples in accordance with approved procedures. \nMaintain sample traceability throughout the preparation process. \nPrevent cross-contamination between samples using approved cleaning procedures. \nOrganise and store samples according to laboratory retention requirements. \nAssist with sample disposal following approved procedures and regulatory requirements. \nThe Essentials:\nThe successful candidate will possess the following skills and abilities:\nStrong attention to detail with a focus on quality. \nAbility to follow documented procedures accurately. \nStrong written and verbal communication skills. \nGood organisational and time-management skills. \nAbility to work independently and as part of a team. \nBasic computer skills and data entry accuracy. \nCommitment to quality, safety, and continuous improvement \nEnjoy challenges; demonstrated ability to work under pressure and to deadlines; \nIndependent, but also a good team player to build strong working relationship with the team in line with other supervisor/s in respectful manner and able to work autonomously. \nWorking at ALS\nThe ALS team is a diverse and dedicated community united by our passion to make a difference in the world.\nOur values are important to us, and shape how we work, how we treat each other and how we recognise excellence.\nAt ALS, you’ll be supported to develop new skills and reach your full potential.
