Business development makes up 10% time, in keeping with ALS Experience requirements and 20/20/20 directive.\nSpecific Responsibilities\nAct as a contact for clients (via phone, email, fax or other media) and manage own client portfolio;\nCoordinate medium and large client accounts and profiles as designated by the Client Services Manager and acting as regional PM on some National client accounts;\nEnsure that client communications are returned promptly, as specified in customer service manual guidelines or as determined by local management;\nReview client chain of custody forms;\nReview and approve data reports and invoices;\nLog sample data into GEL system as emergency back-up for Support Services\nMaintain and update client information (contacts, addresses, etc.);\nInitiate and issue Client Complaints (CC), Corrective Action Reports (CAR) and Rechecks;\nEnsure any client special reporting requirements are carried out;\nEnsure completion and transmission of final and draft client reports;\nProvide direction, information and specifics on client samples and projects to appropriate laboratory, sample management, sales and office services staff;\nMaintain communication with laboratory staff on general lab turnaround times and relay appropriate information to clients;\nProactive communication with staff on any special client requests;\nProvide information to clients on branch services, capabilities, qualifications, turnaround times, etc., as required;\nVerify problematic incoming sample shipments, ensure that sample submissions match Chain of Custody forms;\nAs part of the client services group in direct communication with clients, minimum 10% time will be devoted to sales and marketing efforts as directed by manager.\nAdhere to Company policies, procedures, and directions regarding standard of workplace behaviour;\nWork in a safe manner in accordance with the ALS Health and Safety Program;\nObserve established safety regulations and comply with all ALS health and safety policies and procedures;\nPosition acceptable for 50/50 work from home split.\nOther duties as assigned.\nRequired Knowledge, Skills & Abilities\nExcellent English communication skills required (auditory, verbal, written, and reading);\nIntermediate user of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and Outlook), with good computer skills;\nExcellent interpersonal skills, with positive and energetic outlook;\nGood organizational skills with high attention to detail;\nAbility to work independently and as part of a team;\nStrong work ethic and willingness to take on varied tasks as required;\nCommitment to ongoing professional development and a client-focused attitude.\nRequired Qualifications\nTechnical Diploma or Degree in Chemistry or industry related Science discipline or experience in ALS laboratory Log-in & receiving, analytical chemistry experience or ALS Client Services is preferred.\n1 to 2 years’ experience in Environmental Chemistry or related field;\nOne year of experience in Customer Service or Sales.\nPhysical Demands\nAble to stand or sit for a full shift;\nAbility to lift up to 50 lbs./23 kg and carry for short distances in case of handling client samples;\nManual dexterity to perform intricate or repetitive tasks.\nExperience with ALS business systems is an asset\nWorking at ALS\nThe ALS team is a diverse and dedicated community united by our passion to make a difference in the world.\nOur values are important to us, and shape how we work, how we treat each other and how we recognise excellence.\nAt ALS, you’ll be supported to develop new skills and reach your full potential.
