Our global team turns up each day with passion and commitment to do amazing things, always challenging our thinking to find ways to solve some of the world’s most complex problems for a safer, healthier world.\nAbout the role:\nThe primary purpose of this position is to receive and process samples from outside clients as well as field personnel.\nAbout you:\nWill receive samples from outside clients and field service personnel and inspect for proper containers, temperatures, preservatives, etc.\nWill accurately log samples into the laboratory LIMS system.\nWill be responsible for transporting samples to appropriate storage locations and disposing of expired samples\nPerform other duties as assigned and directed.\nEnsure compliance with assigned SOP’s, QA manual and ALS Client Service Manual.\nProfessional appearance and conduct to both ALS staff and clients.\nOther duties as assigned.\nRequired Qualification:\nDesire to work in an administrative position in a laboratory setting.\nDetail oriented - able to accurately interpret and transcribe information from a client chain of custody into the laboratory computer system.\nGood typing / data entry skills.\nFamiliarity with chemical symbols and general scientific terminology.\nHave a demonstrated ability to communicate well in English, both verbal and written.\nAbility to multi-task and work as part of a team.\nProven ability to learn new concepts quickly.\nBasic knowledge of EPA methodologies\nHigh School Diploma / GED required, B.S. in Chemistry or related field preferred.\nPhysical Demands:\nThe ability to stand for intervals of up to 8 hours while working.\nAble to speak and hear clearly while communicating with co-workers and managers.\nAble to lift up to 50 lbs. on a consistent basis (may request and use a dolly for situations requiring heavy loads).\nDexterity in hands and fingers to operate equipment and handle glassware.\nMust have average vision and able to see to read reports and operate equipment.\nHearing and speech to communicate in person and over the telephone.\nWorking at ALS:\nOur people are our most valuable asset and drive our success at ALS.
