This position is also responsible for utilizing correct methods in accordance with established procedures and schedules while ensuring analytical quality.\nSpecific Responsibilities:\nWarehouse\nOrganizes, maintains and improves warehouse operations;\nEnsures the day-to-day flow of warehouse operations run according to ALS Group standards;\nOversees the storage of supplies in the warehouse area.\nInventory Control\nEnsures the integrity and accuracy of all supply inventories for the laboratory and warehouse;\nResponsible for the inventory and ordering of all cylinder gases for the laboratory;\nResponsible for regular inventory counts and communicating inventory levels to finance and purchasing;\nPulp and Reject\nDevelop a system to store pulp and rejects in an organized fashion;\nCoordinate the pulp and reject storage, disposal and return to clients in a timely manner;\nProvide inventory count to invoice clients for their pulp and reject storage.\nManage sample disposition, including invoice preparation, on a monthly basis\nPersonnel\nCommunicates and enforces ALS Group employment policies and procedures;\nCommunicates and enforces ALS Group safety, health and environment policies;\nTrains workers in duties and policies and ensures smooth operation of equipment;\nAdministrative duties and workorder entry\nShipping and Receiving\nDevelops and maintains a procedure manual for the shipping & receiving department;\nOversees the selection and scheduling of common carriers to ensure on-time and cost-effective delivery of all shipments;\nOversees the preparation of all Commercial Invoices and ensures all documents accompanying shipments and are accurate;\nMaintains an accurate and up to date shipping log and confirmation of delivery;\nAlong with the Manager ensures the most cost effective and efficient method of shipment to international locations;\nOrganizes container shipments when necessary;\nResponsible for maintaining all department specific ISO documentation;\nProvides assistance to clients and other ALS Branches when necessary;\nOther duties as assigned by manager.\nVehicles & Equipment\nMaintains up to date maintenance logs on all trucks and forklifts;\nEnsures vehicles and equipment are regularly maintained;\nEnsure that all the departmental staff have proper licenses and certifications to operate vehicles and equipment.\nSafety\nPromotes Safety and Housekeeping in all activities surpassing accordance with health and safety legislation;\nCommunicates and enforces ALS Group safety, health and environment policies.\nRequired Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:\nExcellent command of the English language, strong verbal and written communication skills;\nStrong customer service focus, interpersonal and organizational abilities;\nDemonstrated judgement, creativity, integrity and ability to solve problem;\nExcellent prioritization skills with minimal guidance and direction;\nAbility to effectively work as part of a cross-functional team;\nStrong documentation and communication skills;\nStrong analytical and problem solving skills;\nStrong Microsoft Office skills;\nAbility to effectively handle escalations and time critical issues;\nAbility to work in a fast-paced environment;\nAbility to operate a forklift and participate in inventory counts.\nRequired Qualifications:\nSome post-secondary education in warehousing, shipping & receiving, and/or logistics required;\nDiploma in warehousing and shipping, or logistics preferred;\nApplicable Provincial driver’s license with clean driving history required;\nForklift license and experience operating a forklift required;\nTwo to three years of warehousing experience required;\nTwo to three years of experience in shipping & receiving, with experience in dealing with dangerous goods and international S&R required;\nMinimum of two years supervisory experience required.\nPhysical Demands:\nAbility to regularly lift 10 to 20lbs;\nAbility to work in a dusty environment;\nManual dexterity to perform intricate and/or repetitive tasks;\nWear issued personal protective equipment (PPE) such as dust masks, gloves etc., when required;\nAbility to stand for a full shift;\nAbility to sit at a desk and do general office work, which includes periodic sedentary responsibilities.\nOur benefits include:\nAn estimated hourly pay of $32.05 CAD at the time of posting.
