This is an exciting opportunity to learn from experienced tradespeople while helping maintain and overhaul the rolling stock that supports Sydney Metro, including Australia's first driverless train network. Working Monday to Friday, 6:00am to 2:00pm, you'll gain practical experience, develop valuable trade skills, and complete nationally recognised training while contributing to a high-performing team.\nWhat You'll Learn and Do\nUnder the guidance of qualified tradespeople and supervisors, you'll:\nLearn how to carry out overhaul and maintenance activities on rolling stock bogies and train components.\nAssist with inspections, servicing, repairs, and maintenance checks on driverless trains.\nDevelop skills in identifying faults and supporting corrective maintenance activities.\nLearn to interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and work instructions.\nUse a variety of hand tools, power tools, and workshop equipment safely and effectively.\nGain experience with specialised processes including crimping, torquing, spot welding, sealant application, painting, and other rail industry techniques.\nLearn how to safely operate overhead cranes and lifting equipment.\nComplete quality checks and maintain accurate maintenance records.\nContribute to maintaining a safe, clean, and organised workplace through 5S practices.\nWork collaboratively with tradespeople, technicians, engineers, and supervisors.\nSuccessfully complete the requirements of your apprenticeship training program.\nAll About You\nWe value attitude, enthusiasm, and a willingness to learn over previous experience.
