PURPOSE OF THE JOB\nThe MPC (Maintenance Performance Centre) is Alstom India's centralised centre of excellence for rail maintenance - leveraging digital intelligence, data analytics, and advanced troubleshooting to drive fleet performance across multiple product platforms and domestic rail projects. The MPC brings together Planning, Fleet Support, Digital, Smart Troubleshooting, and Industrial expertise under one roof, enabling smarter, faster, and more cost-effective maintenance delivery at scale.\nAs MPC Fleet Planner, you will be part of the team that keeps Alstom India's maintenance schedules running with precision - contributing to the centralised planning function that serves multiple fleets and depot locations from the Gurgaon MPC.\nYou will manage the 24-hour operational planning cycle for assigned fleets, ensuring maintenance is scheduled, executed, and tracked in line with contractual availability targets.\nThis is a role for someone who is organised, detail-oriented, and passionate about getting things right - someone who understands that good planning is what keeps trains on track.\n2. ORGANISATION\nOrganisation Structure: MPC India - Services Product Line\nReports directly to: MPC Fleet Planning Manager\nOther reporting to: Planning Manager\nMin. Years of Experience: 4+ years\nDirect reports: 0 (Individual Contributor)\n3. NETWORK & LINKS\n\nInternal\n\nExternal\n\nAll Fleet Planning / Operational Stakeholders - coordinate planning and scheduling activities across maintenance depots and operational teams.\nEngineering Teams - manage concession requests and technical coordination for fleet maintenance.\nExecution Team / Depot - issue and manage Service Orders; monitor production delivery against the Maintenance Schedule.\nCommercial & Customer Teams - support schedule changes in line with commercial and customer requirements.\n\nContract Customers\nRailtrack / Rail Infrastructure Managers\nExternal Authorities\n\n4. MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES\nProduce and maintain a live Maintenance Schedule for assigned fleets, ensuring contractual availability targets are met and all essential maintenance is planned and completed on time.\nIssue and manage Service Orders, monitor production delivery against the schedule, and manage concession requests with Engineering when required.\nSystematically review delivery failures to ensure lessons are captured, understood, and built into future planning - preventing the same issue from recurring.\nMonitor fleet operator on-time performance for trains entering maintenance, and actively manage the maintenance backlog.\nMaintain KPIs and targets, updating plans to provide leadership with an accurate picture of schedule performance and progress against targets.\nContinuously look for ways to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and deliver operational improvements that benefit both the MPC and the customer.\n5. WHAT YOU BRING\nTechnical Skills\nUnderstanding of operational planning and scheduling across maintenance depots.\nProficiency in SAP/GSI and AFMS - fleet planning software and IT systems used in rail maintenance.\nAbility to use data tools to monitor fleet performance against targets.\nManagement Skills\nDecision-Making: effective and timely decision-making under tight schedules and pressure.\nInterpersonal Skills\nCommunication: excellent communication skills at all levels; comfortable with multi-customer environments.\nTeamwork: collaborative and dependable - works effectively with functional leads and depot teams.\nAnalytical Skills\nProblem-Solving: able to identify and resolve planning obstacles quickly and pragmatically.\nPerformance Optimisation: committed to producing a schedule that maximises availability and minimises wasted maintenance capacity.\nIndustry-Specific Knowledge\nMinimum 4 years' experience of operational delivery in a rail environment.\nPersonal Attributes\nAdaptability: flexible and solutions-focused in a fast-moving railway environment.
