Joining us means joining a truly global community of more than 70000 people dedicated to solving real-world mobility challenges and achieving international projects with sustainable local impact.\nCould you be the full-time onsite OCS Technician in Eglinton, ON, CA we’re looking for?\nPosition Summary\nThe Overhead Contact System (OCS) Linesperson is responsible for the inspection, maintenance, repair, testing, and installation of overhead contact system assets that support the safe and reliable operation of Light Rail Vehicles (LRVs). The position performs preventive and corrective maintenance on OCS infrastructure, responds to service disruptions and emergency incidents, and supports the overall reliability and availability of the railway electrification system.\nThe successful candidate will work in a safety-critical environment and demonstrate a strong commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement while working independently or as part of a maintenance team.\nKey Responsibilities\nPerform preventive and corrective maintenance on OCS assets, including:Contact wire\nCatenary wire\nDroppers and hangers\nInsulators\nSection insulators\nPoles and support structures\nFeeder cables and equipment\n\nConduct scheduled inspections and condition assessments of OCS assets.\nIdentify, document, and report defects through the maintenance management system.\nTroubleshoot electrical and mechanical failures of OCS systems.\nPerform emergency response activities to restore service following incidents, system failures, weather events, or accidents.\nRead and interpret engineering drawings, schematics, plans, and maintenance procedures.\nOperate aerial devices, lifting equipment, and rail maintenance vehicles as required.\nComplete work orders, inspection reports, and maintenance records accurately.\nParticipate in planned outages and work windows.\nEnsure compliance with all railway operating rules, safety procedures, lockout/tagout requirements, and maintenance standards.\nAssist with commissioning, testing, and acceptance of new OCS infrastructure.\nMaintain tools, equipment, and company vehicles in safe working condition.\nPerform any other duties that fall within your pay grade. \nQualifications\nEducation & Trade Certification\nJourneyman Powerline Technician, Construction and Maintenance Electrician, or equivalent electrical trade certification preferred.\nLight Rail or Railway OCS Linesperson qualification considered a strong asset.\nPost-secondary education in Electrical Technology, Electromechanical Technology, or a related discipline is an asset.\nExperience\nMinimum 1-3 years of experience in:Overhead Contact Systems (OCS)\nPower distribution systems\nRailway electrification systems\nHigh-voltage electrical maintenance\n\nExperience working on Light Rail Transit (LRT), commuter rail, subway, or heavy rail systems is preferred.\nExperience performing maintenance in a safety-critical operating environment.\nTechnical Knowledge\nKnowledge of:Railway electrification systems\nTraction power systems\nOCS inspection and maintenance practices\nElectrical troubleshooting techniques\nPreventive and corrective maintenance processes\nBlueprints, schematics, and technical documentation\nMaintenance management systems (Maximo preferred)\n\nCertifications\nValid Ontario Class G Driver's License.\nWorking at Heights Certification.\nElevated Work Platform / Aerial Lift Certification.\nFirst Aid & CPR Certification.\nRailway Track Access and Work Protection training (or ability to obtain).\nHigh Voltage Switching authorization considered an asset.\nClass DZ License considered an asset.\nRequired Skills & Competencies\nStrong safety mindset and commitment to regulatory compliance.\nAbility to work safely at heights and in confined spaces.\nAbility to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.\nStrong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.\nAbility to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical documents.\nEffective communication and teamwork skills.\nAbility to respond to emergencies and work rotating shifts, nights, weekends, and on-call assignments as required.\nPhysical Requirements\nAbility to climb structures and work at heights.\nAbility to lift and carry materials, tools, and equipment weighing up to 50 lbs.\nAbility to work in tunnels, right-of-way corridors, maintenance facilities, and outdoor environments.\nAbility to safely perform physically demanding maintenance activities.\nPreferred Qualifications\nCertified Railway OCS Linesperson.\nExperience with LRT or electrified railway systems.\nHi-Rail Vehicle Operator Certification.\nExperience with switch heating systems, traction power interfaces, and railway communications infrastructure.\nKnowledge of CSA, AREMA, and applicable railway industry standards.\nWhat We Offer\nOpportunity to work on a world-class light rail transit system.\nCollaborative and safety-focused culture.\nOngoing technical and leadership development.\nCompetitive compensation and benefits package.\nCareer advancement opportunities within railway infrastructure maintenance.\nCompensation\nThe expected compensation for this role is $65,000 CAD , plus benefits and eligibility for an annual performance bonus.
