Every day, 80,000 colleagues lead the way to greener and smarter mobility worldwide, connecting cities as we reduce carbon and replace cars.\nCould you be the UX Designer - Diagnostics in our Advanced & Creative Design Global (A&CD) team we’re looking for?\nResponsibilities\nProduct Design & UX Execution\nLead end-to-end UX design for DIALOGS, focusing on diagnostic log exploration, troubleshooting workflows, event timelines, and error interpretation.\nTranslate technical and operational concepts into structured workflows, wireframes, interaction models, mockups, and hi-fi prototypes.\nProduce clear interaction specifications and design documentation for smooth collaboration with developers.\nCommunicate design decisions using user flows, diagrams, storyboards, and prototypes.\nUser-Centered Design & Iteration\nUnderstand how technicians and maintenance engineers interpret logs, identify root causes, and validate corrective actions.\nConduct usability testing, heuristic evaluations, and gather user feedback to drive iterative improvements.\nIntegrate operational constraints, product requirements, and usability insights to refine the product experience.\nDesign Systems & Consistency\nContribute to Alstom’s design system through reusable components, documentation, and pattern refinement.\nPromote consistency across screens, interactions, and accessibility within the DIALOGS application.\nCollaborate with engineering counterparts to ensure feasible and scalable component implementation.\nAccessibility & UX Quality\nApply accessibility principles (WCAG standards) across all designs, ensuring inclusivity and clarity.\nIdentify potential usability risks early and help teams mitigate them.\nSupport internal reviews and quality checks to maintain high UX standards.\nDiagnostics Analysis & Improvement\nReview user workflows and identify friction points in troubleshooting and diagnostic interpretation.\nRecommend improvements based on user behaviour, system patterns, and practical maintenance workflows.\nProvide actionable insights to enhance efficiency, comprehension, and decision-making in DIALOGS.\nCollaboration, Governance & Documentation\nWork closely with cross-functional teams to align product goals, technical feasibility, and design quality.\nContribute to standardized UX documentation, governance activities, and design rationale logs.\nAdvocate for scalable UX practices and systematic adoption of design principles.\nMandatory:\nBachelor’s degree in Interaction Design or Design from design school / university or HCI or equivalent practical experience\n6+ years of UX, interaction design, or digital product design experience.\nA portfolio featuring complex workflows, data-heavy interfaces, interaction design, and problem-solving approaches (must include link or access instructions).\nExperience designing for enterprise, operational, or analytical applications.\nExcellent visual and interaction design capabilities with strong attention to detail.\nExperience collaborating with Product Owners, Engineering, QA, Support, and data-oriented teams.\nStrong communication and presentation skills, able to articulate design rationale clearly.\nDesirable:\nExperience working with early-stage or evolving products, including ambiguity and shifting priorities.\nAbility to integrate cross-functional feedback and advocate for UX and user-centered design principles.\nA1 - French Language - not a must\nCompetencies, Skills & Tools\nInteraction & UX Craft\nAdvanced interaction design skills for complex, data-rich, workflow-based applications.\nAbility to simplify diagnostic logs, error messages, and technical data into intuitive experiences.\nStrong grasp of information architecture, navigation modeling, and visual hierarchy.\nExpertise in designing enterprise-grade usability: clarity, resilience, and predictability.\nAbility to design for progressive disclosure, multi-step task flows, and high-density data layouts.\nSystems Thinking & Design System Mindset\nStrong understanding of design systems, reusable UI patterns, and scalable component libraries.
