You’ll work alongside collaborative and innovative teammates.\nYou'll play a pivotal role in ensuring the safe and efficient movement of trains by designing and standardizing Interlocking (IXL) system architectures and configurations. Day-to-day, you’ll work closely with teams across the business (Project IXL Design Leaders, V&V teams, Installation & Testing teams), analyze customer and product requirements, and contribute to continuous improvement in hardware solutions.\nYou’ll specifically take care of designing hardware configurations, power distribution architectures, and documentation for signaling equipment, but also support project deployment and debugging activities.\nWe’ll look to you for:\nDelivering design scheme plan layouts, hardware configuration drawings, BOPs, BOMs, and signaling equipment room layouts.\n\nDesigning AC/DC power distribution architectures, including main distribution panels and subpanels for redundant signaling systems.\n\nPerforming power load analysis and designing backup power configurations using battery backups, UPS, and automatic transfer switches.\n\nEnsuring adherence to reference application design methods and tools, requesting deviations when necessary.\n\nParticipating actively in IXL detailed design review meetings and providing activity progress reports.\n\nOrganizing and producing hardware design deliverables in accordance with project templates and requirements.\n\nSupporting project teams in debugging design issues and analyzing design change requests.\n\nDefining pre-fitted solutions for IXL equipment, including racks, cubicles, and cabling, while ensuring proper testing and documentation.\n\nCollaborating with multidisciplinary teams to capture hardware interfaces, environmental conditions, and application constraints.\n\nSharing knowledge of IXL system architecture features with the engineering community.\n\nAll about you\nWe value passion and attitude over experience. Instead, we’ve listed some that we think will help you succeed and grow in this role:\nEngineering Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Electronic, Automation Engineering, or a related technical discipline.\n\nP. Eng certification or in progress\n\n5-10 years of experience in systems/sub-systems application design, integration, or electrotechnical product development in a complex and regulated environment (e.g., railway signaling, aerospace, defense).\n\nGood analytical skills and prior experience in system design & integration.\n\nKnowledge of Interlocking Systems, safety principles, and power supply design.\n\nFamiliarity with Alstom products (desirable).\n\nStrong problem-solving, writing, and communication skills, with an open-minded and multidisciplinary approach.\n\nFluency in English.\n\nThings you’ll enjoy Join us on a life-long transformative journey - the rail industry is here to stay, so you can grow and develop new skills and experiences throughout your career.
