This role combines architectural leadership with hands-on software engineering to deliver scalable, secure, and high-performance solutions across a modern microservices-based environment deployed on Kubernetes platforms.\n\nThe Software Architect will establish the technical vision for SCC Vision, guide development teams, and actively contribute to the implementation of critical software components. The role requires strong expertise in enterprise software development, distributed systems, cloud-native technologies, and modern DevOps practices.\n\nKey ResponsibilitiesDefine, maintain, and evolve the overall software architecture for the SCC Vision platform.\n\nLead the design and development of scalable, resilient, and secure microservices-based solutions.\n\nProvide hands-on technical leadership and contribute to software development using Python, C++, C#, Java, or Go.\n\nDesign and review application architecture, APIs, service communication patterns, integration frameworks, and data models.\n\nEstablish software engineering standards, coding guidelines, and architectural best practices.\n\nDrive adoption of cloud-native technologies including Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD, and infrastructure automation.\n\nCollaborate closely with Product Management, Program Managers, QA, DevOps, and development teams to ensure successful product delivery.\n\nLead architecture reviews, code reviews, technical discussions, and design workshops.\n\nEnsure system reliability, scalability, security, and maintainability through sound architectural decisions.\n\nChampion automated testing strategies, including Robot Framework and continuous quality practices.\n\nMentor and coach software engineers, fostering technical excellence and innovation.\n\nEvaluate emerging technologies and recommend improvements aligned with the SCC Vision product roadmap.\n\nRequired CompetenciesEnterprise Software Architecture\n\nFull Stack Software Development\n\nMicroservices and Distributed Systems\n\nCloud-Native Architecture\n\nPython Development\n\nC++, C#, Java, or Go Development\n\nREST API and gRPC Design\n\nKubernetes and Container Technologies\n\nDevOps and CI/CD Practices\n\nTest Automation and Quality Engineering\n\nDatabase Architecture and Data Integration\n\nPerformance Optimization and Scalability\n\nSecurity Architecture and Secure Coding\n\nTechnical Leadership and Mentoring\n\nAgile Software Development\n\nPreferred ExperienceLarge-scale mission-critical systems.\n\nRailway signalling, ATS, SCADA, or Operational Control Systems.\n\nInfrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform and Helm.\n\nMonitoring and observability platforms including Prometheus, Grafana, and ELK.\n\nAzure cloud services and modern software delivery platforms.\n\nExperience driving architecture governance and technology strategy across multiple development teams.\n\nYou don't need to be a train enthusiast to thrive with us.
