Every day, more than 80 000 colleagues lead the way to greener and smarter mobility worldwide, connecting cities as we reduce carbon and replace cars.\n\nJOB TITLE & PURPOSE\n\nJob Title\nBase Software Developer\n\nPurpose of the Job\nParticipate to the complete development cycle of the Base Software (BSw) for Traction electronic, by assuring the works of design and test of the software for Command-Control, following the standard 50128 within the framework of national or international rail projects.\nCollaborating with the Traction Control and Validation Software Engineers, the Base Software (BSw) Engineer design software module, realize integration activities, non-regression checks, generating a BSw build/version.\n\nPOSITION IN THE ORGANISATION\n\nObjectives\nManage and responsibility of the assigned tasks (BSw functions/blocs implementation) in terms of quality and time. Documentation of the BSw produced according to the quality and processes adopted within the project. Sw module and integration testing.\n\nOrganisation Reporting\nIn the Services Engineering department - Engineering branch, the Base Software Developer works in the Software, Testers & Tools team.\nHierarchical reporting to Software Team Leader.\nFunctional reporting to Base Software Engineering Manager.\n\nNetwork & Links\nInternal:\nInteracts with the FPGA and Hardware Teams.\nContact with other department in the site in case of specific Project needs (Traction Engineering team (TrSE, RAMS, Control, Validation Engineer…) \nExternal:\nTraction Alstom site, Manufacturing Alstom site\nFinal customer (railway operator)\nSuppliers\nAuditors\n\nMISSIONS\n\nPerformance Measurement/KPI’s\nEnvironment, Health and Safety (EHS) indicators, for security of the persons, the properties and the environment, by applying the safety regulations of the company.\nPeriodically followed-up by the Base Software Engineering Manager and the Software Team Leader. \nControl command & contractual software are accepted by customers (internal & final) \nQuality of the delivered work through the software development cycle, software anomalies report files and change request files.\nRespect and improve the costs allocated.\nRespect the delivery planning and follow-up the software development documents\nNone non-compliances for delivery during Quality audits (IRIS, Certifer)\nCorrect application of referenced evolution and software procedures\nNumber of modification due to problem of coding (validation internal or tests,…)\n\nResponsibilities\nRespect and apply the EHS rules\nWork on many projects and manage the priorities\nAccumulate Know-how for electronics dedicated to the control of railway energy power conversion sub-systems\nPerform BSw development activities, e.g. composed byConceptual definition of BSw architectures/functionalities (Standardisation)\nBSw Requirements Specifications and Configuration history documentation\nBSw Requirements Test Specifications\nPerforming engineering level Impact analysis\nBSw source code\nBSw Integration into train level architecture\nBSw Validation for internal and external/homologation purposes\nCoordination of project activities across engineering sites, if necessary.\n\nPerform Reliability Growth activities on systems in service\nTechnical coordination / technical management of Co-Design activities with suppliers\nPerform planning / controlling of the technical activities\nSupport of budgeting activities for offers\nRespect the QCD and update the indicators of software activity\nParticipate to the design reviews\n\nJOB SPECIFICATIONS\n\nKnowledge & Experience\nExperience of at least 2 years in real time software design and standard application (ultra RTOS appreciated).\nExperience with formal SW development processes\nExperience in module testing and V-life cycle software development appreciated\nExperience in the field of command and control of technical systems \nKnowledge in communication protocol (CAN, MVB, TrDP, CIP)\nBasic knowledge of software configuration management tools (Clearcase, SVN, Git, Clearquest)\nBasic knowledge about electronic Hw design\nExperience in the railway field appreciated\nKnowledge with Matlab / Simulink would be appreciated\nKnowledge in Requirements Management Tools (e.g. DOORS) appreciated\nUse of test and measurement devices such as testers, multimeters, oscilloscopes, logic analysers\n\nTechnical Skills & Competencies\nProgramming Languages: Deep knowledge of C language (MUST), C++ (Appreciated)\nTechniques: Impact analysis, Basic Statistics, FMEA\nTools: DSP Texas Instruments Compilers\nMatlab / Simulink appreciated\nMS Office Tools (Word, Excel, Powerpoint)\n\nBehavioural Skills / Competencies \nTeam working attitude and proactiveness in problem solving\nInterested in interdisciplinary work\nOpen mind and creative\nFluent French and English knowledge is needed, Italian and/or Spanish appreciated\n\nYou don’t need to be a train enthusiast to thrive with us.
