This role involves managing and optimizing a hybrid environment built on Hyper-Converged Infrastructure technologies, utilizing VMware and SUSE Harvester hypervisors. Responsibilities include ensuring the seamless integration of Windows and Linux virtual machines while maintaining strong network and system security.\nKey Responsibilities\nVirtualization and Kubernetes:\nDeploy, manage, and troubleshoot Hyper Converged Infrastructures based on VMware hypervisor for virtual machines and SUSE Harvester and OpenShift Kubernetes clusters for containerized workloads.\nDesign, integrate and maintain multiple virtual platforms as per project requirements.\nParticipate in deploying project-specific virtualized platforms for Integrated Control Center systems.\nNetworking & Cybersecurity\nDesign, implement and support advanced high-available network architectures, using modern routing protocols, VLANs, VPNs, and MPLS.\nConfigure, monitor, and maintain physical and virtual network and security devices: routers, switches, firewalls, IDS/IPS appliances (Fortinet, Cisco, Palo Alto, and HPE).\nMonitor the high availability and performance of network services through regular health checks and optimization using tools such Zabbix, Netbox, OpenSearch, Solarwinds and ManageEngine products\nImplement and monitor endpoint security controls policies (McAfee ePO) \nFollow company and project specific security policies based on NIST 800-53\nDevOps support\nParticipate in DevOps activities on Infrastructure as a Code deployments using tools such as Terraform and Ansible.\nUse GIT as a configuration versioning and management systems\nSystem Administration:\nAdminister and secure Linux and Windows servers.\nDesign and perform operating systems and applications updates and patches. \nImplement and monitor system backups and replication based on project requirements. \nFollow the ITSM best practices according to ITILv4\nHardware and Infrastructure\nInstall, configure, and maintain IT infrastructure (Dell VxRail, VBlock, or HPE hyperconverged environment)\nInstall, configure and manage storage equipment (SAN, NAS, NFS, etc.) (Dell DataDomain)\nParticipate in the decision making process on new hardware purchases\nTroubleshooting and Support:\nDiagnose and resolve infrastructure and network issues.\nProvide advanced support for system and network escalations.\nDocumentation and Monitoring:\nCreate and maintain detailed documentation for systems, networks, and configurations.\nSupport documentation process at the project level\nCompetencies & Skills\nStrong IT Hardware knowledge\nStrong knowledge of VMWare products (VCenter, ESXi, etc.)\nGood knowledge of Kubernetes technology\nStrong knowledge of scripting languages (PowerShell, Python, Shell, etc.)\nStrong knowledge of Microsoft Technologies (ActiveDirectory, GPO, SQL, PowerShell, Windows Server, Windows 10/11)\nExperience with highly available environments / applications. (Windows High Availability Clusters)\nGood knowledge of Linux technologies (CentOS, RHEL, Ubuntu, etc.)\nGood understanding of DevOps concepts\nGood understanding of software development pipeline concepts\nKnowledge for Configuration Management Tools such as Ansible, Puppet, Chef, Terraform, Git etc.\nKnowledge of Load Balancing technologies (Windows, HAProxy)\nGood understanding of networking concepts (VLANs, Routing, MPLS, LTE, OSPF, etc.)\nNetworking & Hardware support certifications are a plus\nKnowledge of NIST SP 800-53 and/or ITIL v4 concept \nQuick problem troubleshooting abilities\nQualifications\nEducation: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).\nExperience: 7+ years in networking and infrastructure engineering.\nCertifications: Relevant certifications are a plus.\nCompensation\nThe expected compensation for this role is $105,000 - $135,000 CAD per year, plus benefits and eligibility for an annual performance bonus.
