This internship provides hands-on experience supporting software development initiatives and technology solutions that serve the firm’s attorneys and business professionals.\nDuties, among others, include assisting with application development, testing, troubleshooting technical issues, documenting processes, and supporting system enhancements. The Developer Intern will collaborate with developers, business analysts, and end users while gaining exposure to the full software development lifecycle.\nThis is a collaborative position requiring strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills. The ideal candidate is a motivated self-starter pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Software Engineering, or a related field, with a passion for technology and software development.\nESSENTIAL DUTIES\nAssist in the design, development, and testing of mobile and web applications for use across all areas of the firm. \nSupport data science initiatives by cleaning, analyzing, and visualizing data to uncover insights. \nCollaborate on the configuration and deployment of AI tools like Microsoft Copilot Studio and Azure OpenAI. \nDocumentation, technical write-ups, and internal training materials. \nAttend team meetings and brainstorming sessions to share ideas and learn from senior staff.\nCollaborate with firm users and clients to assess business needs and recommend/design modern digital solutions.\nBecome familiar with all firm applications and solutions that can be used in a solution design to meet requirements, including but not limited to SharePoint Online, Power Apps, Power Automate, and Power BI.\nLeverage AI tools (e.g., Microsoft Copilot, Azure AI services) to enhance solution capabilities and user experience.\nIntegrate applications and data across platforms using APIs, connectors, and cloud services.\nAttend meetings with users, stakeholders, and colleagues to align goals and progress.\nPerform additional duties as requested.\nSKILLS NEEDED TO BE SUCESSFUL\nCurrently pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Software Engineering, or a related field. \nBasic understanding of machine learning concepts and mobile app development. \nExposure to Microsoft 365 tools and interest in generative AI platforms like Copilot. \nStrong analytical thinking, attention to detail, and willingness to learn. \nExcellent communication and collaboration skills.\nExperience with programming languages such as JavaScript, TypeScript, C#, or Python.\nUnderstanding of networking, server management, and cloud storage (e.g., Azure, OneDrive).\nAbility to work independently and manage multiple priorities.\nStrong attention to detail and ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.\nEQUAL OPPORTUNITY EMPLOYER\nAlston & Bird LLP is an Equal Opportunity Employer does not discriminate on the bases of any status protected under federal, state, or local law.
