We’re excited to share that we are hiring for a Summer Student to join our Capital Project Performance team.\nNOTE: The start date is May 2027, and the length of the term is 4 months.\nJob Description:\nThe Capital Project Performance team has a requirement for a Financial Reporting Analyst summer student. Reporting to the Manager, Capital Project Performance, the primary focus of this position will be assisting in the completion of monthly Capital and Operating financial and reporting tasks.\nTo be successful in this position, you will be pursuing a degree in Commerce or Business Administration (Accounting or Finance major is preferred), have sound judgment, strong communication skills, and a positive attitude.\nResponsibilities:\nAssist in the preparation of monthly and quarterly financial reports and information.\nVerify, monitor, and code project invoices for accuracy and reasonableness within AltaLink’s financial system (SAP).\nSummarize current financial status by collecting information and undertaking analysis for review by S&IS leadership.\nAssist with the maintenance and accuracy of the 2027 and 2028 SIS capital delivery project lists.\nAdministration and performance of monthly controls; and\nContribute to the development of new ideas and approaches to improve financial work processes while effectively using AltaLink internal programs and systems.\nAll candidates must demonstrate key behaviors and meet identified expectations outlined in our four cultural pillars - one team, continuous improvement, customer focus and personal accountability.\nRequirements\nQualifications:\nMinimum 1st year student, pursuing a degree in Commerce or Business Administration (Accounting or Finance major is preferred).\nExperience in SAP considered an asset.\nStrong computer skills, with proficiency in Excel.
