Our Real Estate & Built Environment practice combines engineering, technology, design strategy, and data-driven analysis to deliver high-performance buildings - assets that are efficient, resilient, healthy for occupants, and environmentally responsible.\nWe work closely with developers, owners, operators, and design teams to deliver solutions that are both innovative and practical, helping clients achieve economic success alongside meaningful environmental impact.\nWhat You'll Do\nCommissioning (New Construction & Existing Buildings)\nLead commissioning, ongoing commissioning, monitoring-based commissioning, and retro-commissioning engagements\nDevelop commissioning plans and oversee functional performance testing\nPerform HVAC functional testing including point verification and sequence of operations testing\nExecute or witness testing of electrical, lighting, life safety, fire protection, and plumbing systems\nConduct construction inspections to verify MEP installations conform to project documents\nLead commissioning meetings with project stakeholders; document results and track issue resolution\nEnergy Audits & Performance Analysis\nConduct ASHRAE Level I, II, and III energy audits\nAnalyze utility data, building drawings, and operational data to characterize energy consumption\nPerform onsite inspections of mechanical and building systems\nIdentify, evaluate, and quantify Energy Conservation Measures (ECMs)\nPrepare technical reports and client deliverables summarizing findings and recommendations\nSystems Optimization & Advisory\nEvaluate and optimize HVAC, air and water distribution, and building automation systems\nCollaborate with energy modelers to inform high-performance design decisions\nIdentify operational improvements that reduce energy use and environmental impact\nSupport building performance modeling as needed\nTeam Leadership\nCo-lead and mentor a team of engineers and consultants\nManage project delivery, timelines, and workload delegation\nServe as a primary point of contact for clients and project teams\nWhat You Bring\nRequired\nBachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Building Technology, Applied Physics, or a related field\n8+ years of experience in commercial building energy performance, spanning new construction and existing facilities\nCommissioning certification from ASHRAE, AEE, or BCA\nStrong working knowledge of building energy codes and ASHRAE standards\nHands-on experience with building automation systems (BAS) and controls troubleshooting\nExperience optimizing HVAC systems\nAdvanced technical writing and communication skills\nProject management experience with the ability to delegate effectively\nPreferred\nProfessional Engineer (PE) license in New York\nEnergy modeling experience using EnergyPlus, DOE-2, or DesignBuilder\nExperience with NYS energy incentive programs\nFamiliarity with rating systems such as ENERGY STAR MFNC, ZERH, LEED, Energize Green Communities, Living Building Challenge, or WELL\nExperience conducting whole-building or structural life-cycle assessments\nBackground in indoor air quality (IAQ) assessment\nWhat We Offer\nCompensation: Competitive salary with performance-based bonus.
