You will have exposure to many types of projects, ranging from institutional to commercial to residential building projects. Work will include:\nQuantitative analyses, including energy and carbon emissions calculations, thermal comfort analysis, LCCA, and LCA.\nDevelopment of whole-building energy and performance models, used to inform sustainable building design or retrofit strategies.\nSite surveys, auditing, commissioning, retro-commissioning, and monitoring and verification to close the loop on real-life performance.\nCertification support (e.g., Living Building Challenge, PHIUS, LEED).\nTechnical assistance for compliance with energy code, local government and funding requirements, and incentive programs (e.g., NYSERDA, NYC HPD).\nResearch of new technologies & processes.\nTo join us, you need:\nBachelor’s degree minimum in mechanical engineering, building science, or related field.\nKnowledge of energy efficiency strategies and building science.\nExposure to ASHRAE Standards 90.1, 55, and 62.1.\nAbility to read and interpret architectural and mechanical plans and specifications.\nA growth mindset, and a profound desire to contribute to a team focused on positively impacting the built environment.\nProficiency in written and spoken English, and outstanding verbal, interpersonal, and writing skills.\nNice-to-haves:\nMaster's and/or Ph.D.\nCredentials: EIT, PE, LEED AP, CEM.\nExperience in energy analysis with EnergyPlus, eQuest, Open Studio, and/or Design Builder.\nExperience in commissioning, building testing & verification (T&V), and performance verification.\nProficiency in C# or Python programming.\nEqual Opportunities\nAltanova is an Equal Opportunity Employer encouraging diversity in the workplace.
