We are seeking a Laboratory Assistant to play a critical role in supporting pathology and research teams by managing laboratory inventory, preparing materials, coordinating sample processing activities, and ensuring laboratory spaces are organized, compliant, and ready for study execution.\nThis position is ideal for someone who enjoys a combination of inventory management, laboratory operations, logistics coordination, and hands-on scientific support in a fast-paced research environment. You'll work closely with pathology professionals, veterinarians, and research teams to ensure supplies, samples, equipment, and laboratory resources are available when needed and maintained to the highest quality standards.\nWhat You'll Do Here\nInventory & Laboratory Operations\nManage laboratory inventory, including monitoring stock levels, ordering supplies, receiving materials, and maintaining adequate inventory for daily operations.\nMaintain wet tissue storage inventories, laboratory records, cleaning logs, and associated documentation.\nPrint and prepare tissue cassettes, labels, forms, and study materials to support pathology workflows.\nAssist with chemical inventory management, including preparation and maintenance of stock and working solutions.\nCoordinate sample storage, tracking, organization, and shipment preparation.\nPrepare wet tissue shipments, ensuring inventories, documentation, and project materials are accurate and complete.\nSupport waste management activities and ensure proper disposal procedures are followed.\nKeep laboratory workspaces, necropsy suites, storage areas, and processing rooms clean, organized, and inspection-ready.\nLaboratory Support\nPrepare materials, equipment, and supplies needed for study-related procedures.\nVerify balances and laboratory equipment are functioning properly prior to use.\nOperate and maintain laboratory equipment according to established procedures.\nRecord and maintain accurate electronic and paper-based data and inventories.\nSupport data collection activities and research projects in compliance with study protocols and SOPs.\nCross-train in laboratory procedures and assist with additional research activities as needed.\nQuality & Compliance\nFollow GLP, ALCOA+, USDA, AAALAC, safety, and company quality standards.\nEnsure accurate documentation, sample tracking, and inventory controls.\nIdentify opportunities for process improvement and operational efficiencies.\nCollaborate with multiple departments to ensure timely communication and study support.\nTechnical Laboratory Activities\nSupport pathology procedures including tissue handling, sample collection, tissue processing, and necropsy-related activities.\nAssist with specialized sample preparation and processing techniques while receiving ongoing training and development.\nWhat You'll Need to Succeed\nHigh School Diploma or GED required.\nAdditional coursework or training in biology, laboratory sciences, inventory management, or related fields is an asset.\n1+ year of experience in inventory control, laboratory support, research operations, manufacturing, healthcare, warehouse coordination, or a related environment.\nExperience managing supplies, stock rooms, laboratory inventories, or sample tracking systems is highly desirable.\nSkills & Qualifications\nStrong organizational and inventory management skills.\nAbility to manage multiple priorities while maintaining attention to detail.\nComfortable working with inventory systems, spreadsheets, and Microsoft Office applications.\nStrong documentation and record-keeping abilities.\nEffective communication and collaboration skills.\nSelf-motivated with a proactive approach to problem-solving.\nAbility to work independently while supporting a larger team environment.\nInterest in laboratory operations, pathology, life sciences, or biomedical research.\nWork Authorization & Sponsorship\nApplicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
