Diagnose presence and stage of disease/toxicity using laboratory techniques and patient specimens. Study the nature, cause, and development disease/toxicity.\nYou'll Do Here\nPerform macroscopic and microscopic tissue evaluations and interpretation of assigned studies.\nAssist with necropsy supervision and gross pathology interpretation. Guiding of personal staff for sample collection and technical development.\nWrite comprehensive report narratives detailing all test article effects.\nEnter pathology findings in data capturing system.\nAs needed, work with study directors to ensure data is accurately integrated into study reports.\nProvide training, technical guidance, and leadership to laboratory staff.\nMaintain an up-to-date knowledge in toxicologic pathology.\nMay serve as principal investigator for contract pathology work, participate in pathology working group (PWG) as an observer and serve as a consultant in pathology-related issues\nMay provide scientific expertise for experimental design and other aspects of research studies, as needed.\nAct as pathology representative for important sponsors.\nProvide mentorship (study scientific reviews) on assigned studies to less experienced pathologists.\nSupport establishment and or refinement of significant operational or scientific improvements within pathology.\nAbility to build strong bonds with technicians to foster open, honest, and candid communications\nAbility to multi-task and stay organized in a fast paced, changing environment.\nProvide training, technical guidance and leadership to laboratory staff, pathology trainees, and less experienced pathologist.\nWhat You'll Need to Succeed\nD.V.M. (or Equivalent as listed by AVMA ECFVG®)\nMinimum of 5 years of toxicologic pathology experience in a GLP environment\nDiplomat of A.C.V.P. or J.C.V.P. or E.C.V.P. or R.C.P.\nMS Word, Excel, Outlook and Power Point\nAbility to read and interpret technical documents and industry specific manuals.\nAbility to write advanced reports and correspondence.\nOther Requirements:\nExcellent verbal and written communication skills.\nWell developed interpersonal skills are required.\nPersonal/professional integrity and proven discretion in handling confidential information.\nAbility to develop strong trusting relationships in order to gain support and achieve results.\nCapable of managing multiple conflicting priorities.\nMust be self-directed, motivated, and have a willingness to take the initiative to identify and anticipate client needs and make recommendations for implementation.\nRelevant industry experience a plus.\nWhat We Offer\nThe salary range estimated for this position is $170,000 - $210,000.
