The successful candidate will lead the development and optimization of regulatory-ready bioanalytical methods using liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry (LC-MS/MS) for a variety of therapeutic modalities, including small molecules, peptides, biologics, biomarkers, and oligonucleotides.\nWhat You’ll Do Here\nDevelop and optimize robust bioanalytical methods using LC-MS/MS in compliance with regulatory standards.\n\nPerform and oversee sample preparation, analysis, and data interpretation while meeting project timelines and quality expectations.\n\nInvestigate and resolve complex bioanalytical challenges through systematic troubleshooting, experimental design, and root-cause assessment.\n\nParticipate in client discussions and scientific meetings, communicating method development strategies, analytical results, and technical recommendations.\n\nPrepare, review, and approve method development reports, SOPs, and other technical documentation as required.\n\nCollaborate with validation and operational teams to support successful method transfer and implementation.\n\nStay current with advancements in LC-MS technologies and best practices to support continuous improvement.\n\nAdhere to Health and Safety protocols, including personal protective practices and laboratory upkeep.\n\n What You’ll Need to Succeed\nMaster’s or Ph.D. in Biochemistry, Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry, or a related discipline; a Bachelor’s degree with significant relevant experience may also be considered.\n\nTypically 5-8+ years of relevant experience in LC-MS/MS bioanalysis, with demonstrated experience independently leading bioanalytical method development projects.\n\nExperience in sample preparation techniques appropriate to the analyte type (e.g., protein precipitation, solid-phase extraction, immunoaffinity-based approaches, enzymatic digestion).\n\nStrong scientific writing, communication, and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively communicate complex technical concepts to both scientific and non-scientific stakeholders.\n\nAltasciences strives to provide a French work environment for its employees in Quebec.
