{"id":2585120,"url":"https://alion.io/job/altasciences-specimen-management-technician","title":"Specimen Management Technician","company":{"id":1701273,"name":"Altasciences","domain":"altasciences.com","url":"https://alion.io/company/altasciences","size_band":"1001-5000","is_staffing_agency":false,"employer_type":"direct","is_intermediary":false,"listed_via":null,"ats_vendor":"Workday","truth_index":{"grade":"B","score":83,"open_postings":3,"ghost_share":0,"stale_share":0.667,"repost_share":0,"time_to_fill_p50_days":32,"computed_at":"2026-10-30T05:48:23Z"}},"role":"Field & Service","role_family":"Field & Service","seniority":null,"employment_type":"full_time","work_mode":"on_site","remote_scope":null,"remote_scope_basis":null,"remote_working_hours":null,"hiring_geo_confidence":"explicit","locations":["Seattle, United States"],"countries":["US"],"hiring_countries":[],"hiring_countries_total":0,"salary":{"min":20,"max":25,"currency":"USD","period":"hour","gross":null,"usd_annual":50000},"salary_estimate":null,"experience_years_min":null,"visa_sponsorship":true,"relocation_package":false,"has_equity":false,"technologies":[{"name":"GLP","optional":false},{"name":"Microsoft Office","optional":false}],"status":"live","first_seen_at":"2026-10-14T00:00:00Z","employer_posted_date":"2026-10-14","last_verified_at":"2026-10-30T01:05:06Z","board_verified":true,"closed_at":null,"days_open":16,"trust":{"level":"ok","repost_count":null,"flags":[],"days_open":16},"description":"About the Role\nThe Specimen Management Technician, working under direct supervision, is responsible for the timely and accurate receipt, preparation, management, processing, shipping and/or storage of laboratory specimens in compliance with GLP guidelines, study protocols and SOPs.\nWhat You’ll Do Here\nResponsible for working in compliance with GLP guidelines, protocols and SOPs.\nCoordinate with study directors, coordinators, pathologists, laboratory staff, and vivarium staff.\nPrepare, receive, centrifuge, separate and transfer/ship specimens according to SOPs and protocol design with limited supervision.\nMaintain and utilize laboratory equipment and instruments.\nMaintain chain of custody of all specimens processed and ensure timely transfer of specimens for analysis, archive, shipment or storage.\nMaintain documentation of procedures and equipment used and performs quality control of forms and logs.\nMaintain laboratory/shipping supplies.\nMaintain cleanliness of the department areas.\nCross-train to perform other duties within specimen management.\nAssist all areas of specimen management as well as other departments.\nWhat You’ll Need to Succeed\nHigh school diploma or equivalent required.\nPrevious laboratory or regulated environment preferred.\nKnowledge of current International Air Transport Association (IATA) and Code of Federal Regulations (49 CFR) transportation safety requirements preferred.\nBasic computer skills including proficiency with Microsoft Office suite; adapts easily to new software.\nEnglish proficiency both written and verbal; general reading, writing and verbal communication skills.\nHigh level detail-orientation with problem solving and troubleshooting skills required.\nStrong communication skills preferred.\nBasic math skills.\nWatson system knowledge preferred.\nStrong cross-team collaboration.\nFlexibility and efficiency in a fast-paced environment.\nWork Authorization & Sponsorship\nApplicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
