We offer training, making this a great role for someone eager to start a career in science and lab work.\nTo perform this job successfully, the individual is required to perform, but not limited to the preparation of quality tissue samples for histopathologic evaluation; identification of tissue samples for proper trimming techniques; embedding orientation; microtomy skills; performance routine hematoxylin and eosin (H&E) staining procedures; knowledge of the use and maintenance of equipment used for the preparation of tissue samples and the ability to maintain a clean and orderly laboratory environment.\nWhat You'll Do Here\nMaintains and documents the use and maintenance of laboratory equipment\nMaintains a safe, clean and orderly laboratory environment\nPerform trimming of fixed tissues\nPerforms paraffin tissue processing\nIdentifies required tissue sample orientation and performs paraffin embedding procedures\nUses microtomy skills in the preparation of routine (paraffin embedded) microscopic slides according to standard operating procedures and/or required by study protocols\nPerforms routine hematoxylin and eosin (H&E) staining as well as cover slipping microscopic slides\nTroubleshoots equipment and/or operation failures and takes appropriate actions to keep interruptions to a minimum.\nAnalyzes raw data collection and solves for deviation in standard operating procedures (SOP) and/or protocol requirements\nDisposition of hazardous chemical, generation of the hazardous chemical lab pack and data entry to the laboratory hazardous chemical records\nOrdering of warehouse supplies and data entry to laboratory inventory records\nAdditional training pertaining to tissue trimming and bone decalcification\nAdditional training pertaining to special necropsy procedures\n What You Need to Succeed\nHigh School Diploma and 1+ year laboratory experience and/or training required\nAssociates/Bachelor's degree preferred but not required. \nHT (ASCP) eligible within one year of employment\nBasic computer software skills, MS Office Suite required\nProficiency in English including speaking, reading, and writing\nBasic math skills for the preparation of reagents\nAbility to troubleshoot basic laboratory equipment\nContinual GLP training\nIdentification of tissue organs and/or tissue samples\nMicrotomy skills\nRoutine hematoxylin and eosin staining\nWork Authorization & Sponsorship\nApplicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
