Duties are not limited to this list. Any additional requirements, changes, or deletions will be at the discretion of the Director of Engineering. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential responsibility and duty satisfactorily.\nSummary: The Quoting & NPI Engineer serves as the technical bridge between program managers, manufacturing, quality and supply chain functions. This role is responsible for evaluating customer requirements, developing accurate cost estimates and quotations, assessing manufacturability and leading the successful introduction of new products into production. The position plays a critical role in ensuring customer expectations, quality requirements, cost targets, and delivery objectives are achieved from quotation through production launch.\nRESPONSIBILITIES:\nQuoting and Cost Estimating\nReview customer RFQs, drawings, specifications, models, and quality requirements.\nAnalyze product designs for manufacturability and identify technical risks.\nCommunicate DFM feedback to customers through written or verbal presentations.\nDevelop detailed cost estimates including labor, material, tooling, outside processing, equipment, and overhead costs.\nCollaborate with supply chain and vendors to obtain material and subcontractor pricing.\nDetermine manufacturing processes, routings, cycle times, equipment requirements and lead times.\nPrepare accurate and competitive quotations within required deadlines.\nIdentify opportunities for cost reduction and process optimization during the quotation phase.\nMaintain quotation records, assumptions, and supporting documentation.\nNew Product Introduction (NPI)\nLead technical execution for cross-functional NPI activities from order receipt through production launch.\nReview customer requirements and ensure flow-down of technical, quality, and regulatory requirements.\nLead design reviews, manufacturability assessments, and process development activities.\nCreate and validate manufacturing processes, work instructions, and inspection requirements.\nLead evaluation for tooling requirements, tooling design, fixture development, and process validation activities and associated lead times.\nMonitor launch performance and drive resolution of technical, quality, and production issues.\nSupport production teams during initial builds and ramp-up activities.\nTechnical and Continuous Improvement\nServe as a technical resource for customers, program managers, quality, manufacturing, and operations teams.\nSupport root cause analysis and corrective actions implementations for NPI-related issues.\nIdentify opportunities for process improvements that reduce cost, improve quality, and shorten lead times.\nMaintain configuration control and documentation throughout the product lifecycle.\nSupport implementation and compliance with quality management systems and customer-specific requirements.\nParticipate in continuous improvement initiatives using Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies.\nQUALIFICATIONS:\nBachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field strongly preferred.
