This role will focus on multibody dynamics modelling, simulation, and analysis, supporting the full engineering lifecycle from concept development through to customer demonstrations and design reviews.\nThe successful candidate will have a strong background in dynamic systems analysis and multibody simulation, using industry-standard tools to assess the performance, stability, and behaviour of landing gear systems in complex operational environments.\nThis is an excellent opportunity to work on technically challenging aerospace programmes within a collaborative engineering environment, contributing to the development of high-integrity engineering solutions.\nKey Responsibilities:\nDevelop and maintain multibody dynamics models for landing gear systems and associated mechanical assemblies.\nPerform dynamic simulations and analyses to evaluate system performance, loads, stability, and behaviour throughout operational scenarios.\nSupport design activities through the interpretation of simulation results and provision of engineering recommendations.\nProduce technical reports, analysis documentation, and verification evidence to support engineering requirements.\nCollaborate with multidisciplinary engineering teams including systems, structural, mechanical, and integration engineers.\nSupport technical reviews including Preliminary Design Reviews (PDRs) and customer-facing engineering demonstrations.\n Required Skills:\nSignificant experience as a Landing Gear Dynamics Engineer, Multibody Dynamics Engineer, Dynamics Engineer, or similar engineering role.\nStrong background in multibody dynamics (MBD) modelling and simulation.\nProven experience using MSC Adams (Hexagon Adams).\nExperience carrying out dynamic analysis of complex mechanical systems.\nAbility to interpret engineering requirements and translate them into simulation models and analytical solutions.\nExperience producing technical reports and presenting engineering findings to technical audiences.\nStrong understanding of mechanical system behaviour, dynamics, kinematics, and load analysis.\nExcellent stakeholder communication and problem-solving skills.\nMinimum 10 years of relevant engineering experience.\nRequired Qualifications:\nA Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, or equivalent military experience.\nDesirable Skills:\nExperience using Simcentre MotionSolve, Simpack, Ansys Motion, or similar multibody simulation tools.\nExperience with VI Aircraft software.\nPrevious aerospace or landing gear engineering experience.\nExperience presenting dynamic simulations and analysis results during customer-facing design reviews and PDR activities.\nFamiliarity with systems engineering and verification processes within highly regulated industries.\n Why join us?\nWe bring together entrepreneurial, tech-driven people to deliver innovative solutions for leading companies.\nAt ALTEN, you’ll work on exciting projects, supported by ongoing learning, mentoring, and clear career development tailored to your goals.\nJoin a passionate team and help build tomorrow, today.\nIn short you get:\nA personalised career path and a rewarding management style \nA huge diversity of engineering projects and industries\nPrivate Medical Insurance\nCycle & Tech Scheme \nEmployee assistance programme\nLife insurance & Pension Scheme\nSocial atmosphere, regular gatherings & team buildings\nFlexible way of working (role dependent)\nWe are proud to support the Armed Forces Covenant & actively encourage applications from members of the Armed Forces community, including veterans, reservists, service leavers, and military spouses/partners.
