This position requires an experienced professional with the ability to work with one of the most passionate engineers of a global team. Candidates will be expected to demonstrate excellence in their respective fields, to possess the ability to learn quickly and to strive for perfection within a fast-paced environment.\nResponsibilities \n\nBe a significant contributor to a world-class Interior Components and Systems engineering team\n\nDevelop, design lead, release and launch interior Door Trim components on premium vehicles\n\nCreate industry-leading Interior Door Trim, with groundbreaking luxury, craftsmanship, performance, safety, packaging, ergonomics, and functionality\n\nWork interactively within a cross-functional marketing, design, and vehicle engineering team, placing priority on the greater benefit of the vehicle above any one individual system\n\nCollaborate with Interior trim suppliers to ensure technical excellence and on time delivery of our Interior Components and Systems\n\nEmploy and develop effective tools and an innovative approach to supporting the development\n\nInterface with Crash Safety team to ensure the design is meeting with the homologation requirements\n\nLead the interface between supplier and Validation team to run DVPV that meets targets\nRequired Qualifications \n\nBachelor degree in Mechanical Engineering or in a relevant discipline\n\nFluent English including technical engineering terminology\n\n3+ years of demonstrated experience as a detail-oriented Interior Components and Systems development lead (for one or more: IP, Center Console, Door Trim)\n\nKnowledge and understanding of automotive Interior Components and Systems industry benchmark, trends and supplier competencies\n\nExperience creating/improving/establishing technical product specifications and timelines to achieve an accelerated development cycle towards SOP\n\nExperienced in using CAD to create 2D/3D concept drawings, Interior Components and Systems, packaging layouts and DFM studies (CATIA V5/V6 preferred)\n\nVehicle and product launch experience\n\nProven experience in interior process, such as wrapping, injection molding, painting, compression molding and other state of the art manufacturing processes\n\nStrong competency in polymers for the design of Door Trim interior components, DFM, and GD&T\n\nExperience in mold flow simulations\nPreferred Qualifications \n\nFlexibility and ability to adapt to achieve success in a fast-paced startup environment\n\nOne full program cycle experience from concept to production launch in automotive Interior Components and Systems\n\nA strong desire to create the very best product, working as an integral part of a very capable team\n\nA practical hands-on approach to complement the theoretical\n\nExceptional technical abilities paired with excellent communication skills\n\nExperienced in modal analysis, finite element method analysis and computer fluid dynamics\n\nAbility to work on a cross-functional working team of different cultures and nationalities \n\nIdeally a second language of Spanish, German or Chinese\nSalary Range\n\n$120,000 - 125,000\n\nThe actual salary offered is dependent on various factors including, but not limited to, location, the candidate’s combination of job-related knowledge, qualifications, skills, education, training, and experience \nAll qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment and will not be discriminated against on the basis of race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, disability, protected veteran status, age, genetic information, or pregnancy.\nPlease beware of job seeker scams and see this important notice on our careers page for more information about our recruiting process.\nCompliance Notice: Alten USA is a federal contractor subject to the requirements of the Vietnam Era Veterans’ Readjustment Assistance Act (VEVRAA) and Executive Order 11246.
