We take pride in fostering a culture where employees feel valued, supported, and inspired to grow.\n\nONSITE in Carson, CA\nSalary Range: $100,000-$115,000/K\nThe Engineer II, Heaters will be responsible for the research, analysis, design, development, debugging and modification of Heating Equipment such as drain masts, inline heaters, heater hoses, heated manifolds & valves and insulation for the commercial aerospace industry. Using sound engineering principles, this engineer will work to ensure robust, airworthy designs.\nEssential Duties and Responsibilities\nResponsible for the technical development of small/medium heater products for Water & Waste systems\nAnalyze customer requirements and validate them by analysis/modeling/prototyping or based on existing product performance \nCreate and maintain hardware requirements specification and hardware interface control documents\nCreate verification plan for validating product compliance to requirements\nAble to interface independently with technical analysts to define the product design\nAble to interface independently with existing and/or new suppliers and OEMs\nPerforms sub-component selection and analysis of design performance margin\nPerforms component selection & obsolescence management\nCreates design tools to help define the product design, capture lessons learned and improve the heater and insulation development process\nCreates hardware design document that covers design analysis, notes, and specific guidelines to be followed\nCreate design verification test procedure (DVTP) and report (DVTR)\nPerform product performance testing and analysis to ensure that requirements are met and generate test reports\nIndependently finds or creates solutions to problems requiring research, resourcefulness and creativity\nCreates qualification test procedure (QTP) and report (QTR)\nSupports feasibility, development, validation, verification, and qualification testing at Carson and at external test laboratories.\nDevelops and validates acceptance test procedures (ATP) consisting of visual and dimensional inspections, functional testing, proof pressure testing, etc. for the ease of testing in a manufacturing setting\nUtilizes sound technical problem solving to support ongoing projects\nProcesses engineering changes in the development of water and waste systems and equipment\nProvides input to program and project managers\nEducation and/or Experience\nMasters or Bachelors Degree in mechanical or chemical engineering from a recognized ABET accredited institution or equivalent\n1-5 years of aerospace equipment experience with a desire for heater and insulation design excellence\nBachelors Degree in mechanical or chemical engineering and 2 + years of relevant heater and insulation experience\nSalary Range: $100,000-$115,000/K\nThe actual salary offered is dependent on various factors including, but not limited to, location, the candidate’s combination of job-related knowledge, qualifications, skills, education, training, and experience \nAll qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment and will not be discriminated against on the basis of race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, disability, protected veteran status, age, genetic information, or pregnancy.\nPlease beware of job seeker scams and see this important notice on our careers page for more information about our recruiting process.\nCompliance Notice: Alten USA is a federal contractor subject to the requirements of the Vietnam Era Veterans’ Readjustment Assistance Act (VEVRAA) and Executive Order 11246.
