This role will focus on FPGA design, verification, and integration for advanced applications such as avionics systems, imaging systems, and medical devices.\nAs FPGA Engineer you will be responsible for;\nDesign, develop, and implement FPGA-based digital systems using VHDL, Verilog, or SystemVerilog\nOwn the full FPGA lifecycle: requirements, architecture, RTL development, simulation, synthesis, and validation \nDevelop and execute verification strategies, including testbenches and simulation-based validation\nPerform timing analysis, place-and-route, and optimization using industry tools (Vivado, Quartus, Libero) \nIntegrate FPGA designs into hardware platforms and support system bring-up and lab validation\nCollaborate cross-functionally with systems, hardware, software, and test engineers\nSupport compliance with industry standards (e.g., DO-254 for aerospace, FDA/ISO for medical devices)\nTroubleshoot complex hardware/firmware issues during development and testing\nContribute to design reviews, documentation, and continuous improvement initiatives\nRequired Qualifications;\nBachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field\n5+ years of hands-on FPGA design and development experience\nStrong proficiency in HDL languages (VHDL/Verilog/SystemVerilog)\nExperience with FPGA toolchains (e.g., Xilinx Vivado, Intel Quartus, Microchip Libero)\nKnowledge of digital design principles, RTL design, and hardware interfaces\nExperience with simulation, verification, and debugging tools · Familiarity with high-speed interfaces (PCIe, Ethernet, DDR, SPI, etc.)\nAbility to work from system-level requirements to implementation and verification\nPreferred Qualifications;\nExperience in aerospace (avionics, space) or medical device development\nFamiliarity with DO-254, ARINC protocols, or safety-critical development processes\nExperience with DSP algorithms or signal processing on FPGAs\nProgramming skills in C/C++ or Python\nExperience with embedded systems and SoC architectures\nSoft Skills\nStrong problem-solving and analytical mindset · Effective communication and cross-functional collaboration\nAbility to work in fast-paced, multi-project environments\nDetail-oriented with focus on quality and compliance\nSalary Range: $125,000 - $145,000\nLocation: Onsite in Westminster, CO\nThe actual salary offered is dependent on various factors including, but not limited to, location, the candidate’s combination of job-related knowledge, qualifications, skills, education, training, and experience \nNote: Due to the nature of the work, only US Persons (citizens or permanent residents) need apply for this position. \nAll qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment and will not be discriminated against on the basis of race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, disability, protected veteran status, age, genetic information, or pregnancy.\nPlease beware of job seeker scams and see this important notice on our careers page for more information about our recruiting process.\nCompliance Notice: Alten USA is a federal contractor subject to the requirements of the Vietnam Era Veterans’ Readjustment Assistance Act (VEVRAA) and Executive Order 11246.
