We take pride in fostering a culture where employees feel valued, supported, and inspired to grow.\nJob Summary & Responsibilities\nThe Roof Systems Design Release Engineer (DRE) is responsible for the engineering, design, development, validation, timing and production release of sunroof systems.\nThe Engineer will have end to end ownership of their components and ensuring they meet vehicle functional objectives.\nResponsibilities also include: component design, development, and packaging; Design Verification Plan & Report (DVPR) testing; change management; bill of material maintenance; prototype and production build support; issues management; CAD model management in Teamcenter; weight reduction, cost reduction and other efficiency improvement initiatives; and communicating technical product status to management.\nAdditionally, supporting vehicle assembly plants for any product technical issues, support service teams for any field warranty issues and help in root cause analysis of the failures.\nPreferred Qualifications\n Basic Qualifications:\nMinimum of a Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical, Mechatronics, Electrical Engineering or related degree field\nMinimum of 5 years' experience in sunroof systems or similar mechanisms\nDemonstrated leadership skills, ability to work autonomously, excellent communication skills, positive attitude, willingness to learn, flexibility, team-player, and attention to detail\nMechatronic component design and release experience\nWorking knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T)\nProficiency in advanced CAD software such as NX, CATIA or SolidWorks\nExperience in power top, convertible top or sunroof components\nSkills Required:\nBachelor's Degree in Mechanical, Mechatronics, Electrical Engineering or related field\nMinimum 5 years' experience in sunroof systems or similar mechanisms\nMechatronic component design and release experience\nWorking knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T)\nProficiency in advanced CAD software such as NX, CATIA or SolidWorks\nExperience in power top, convertible top or sunroof components\nCAD model management in Teamcenter\nDemonstrated leadership, autonomous work ability, strong communication, teamwork, flexibility, attention to detail\nAll qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment and will not be discriminated against on the basis of race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, disability, protected veteran status, age, genetic information, or pregnancy.\nPlease beware of job seeker scams and see this important notice on our careers page for more information about our recruiting process.\nCompliance Notice: Alten USA is a federal contractor subject to the requirements of the Vietnam Era Veterans’ Readjustment Assistance Act (VEVRAA) and Executive Order 11246.
