We take pride in fostering a culture where employees feel valued, supported, and inspired to grow.\nJob Description:\nALTEN Technology is excited to announce an opening for a Tooling Design Engineer.\nThe role will be responsible for day-to-day tooling design and development support for production tooling aids.\nThe focus is on designing and developing tools, tooling, gauges, and tooling production aids to support new and existing production processes.\nKey Responsibilities:\nDesign and develop new tools, tooling, gauging, and other tooling aids to support production operations.\nCreate designs and drawings using Computer Aided Design (CAD) software.\nAnalize tooling performance and adjust designs accordingly to improve performance.\nDesign tooling for CNC machining, turning, and additive manufacturing methods.\nReview technical manufacturing specifications to determine tooling requirements.\nDesign for ergonomics when appropriate\nCollaborate with team members to develop design solutions for production support.\nEvaluate tooling/gauge/aid performance to determine for-use worthiness.\nInvestigates and troubleshoots process issues.\nProvides technical support to operations.\nConsult with outside engineering entities when required to resolve issues.\nCoordinates multiple design projects.\nProvide technical support and guidance to internal and external vendors during tooling fabrication.\nAnalyze process data in support of continuous improvement.\nBasic Qualifications:\nA degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 10 years of tooling design experience\n10 years of experience using 3D modeling CAD software\nSiemens NX / Teamcenter Experience\nExperience working with CAD assemblies.\nGood understanding of Engineering Drawings and Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing\nStrong analytical skills using appropriate logic and reasoning for design solutions.\nExperience conducting design reviews.\nStrong communication and teamwork skills.\nAttention to detail.\nStrong creativity and innovation skills.\nProficiency with Microsoft O365 suite.\nUS. citizenship is required for this position; only U.S. citizens are authorized to access and handle sensitive data required to support our government and military programs.\nPreferred Qualifications:\nAerospace Maintenance Repair and Overhaul (MRO) experience\nUnderstanding of Lean Manufacturing principles, experience with Kaizen events or experience with a continuous improvement program (6s, etc.).\nExperience with composite materials\nAll qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment and will not be discriminated against on the basis of race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, disability, protected veteran status, age, genetic information, or pregnancy.\nPlease beware of job seeker scams and see this important notice on our careers page for more information about our recruiting process.\nCompliance Notice: Alten USA is a federal contractor subject to the requirements of the Vietnam Era Veterans’ Readjustment Assistance Act (VEVRAA) and Executive Order 11246.
