REMOTE on Friday.\nLocation: Palo Alto, CA\nWe are hiring a Technical Program Manager to cover two areas of operation in a single seat. Roughly half the role is release management across upcoming infotainment software releases, owning the metrics and the daily drumbeat that keep a release on schedule and escalating what needs a decision. The other half is hands-on technical program management for the cloud-gateway service on the vehicle software team, driving sprint execution and owning the roadmap and the interface agreements that connect the vehicle to the cloud.\nThis is a role for a TPM who is comfortable moving between executive-level reporting and day-to-day ticket-level execution in the same week. You will work directly with engineering managers, developers, cloud partners, middleware partners and the heads of PMO.\nResponsibilities\nRelease management\nDefine and report on metrics that highlight the health of upcoming software releases\nDrive closure and provide daily updates for open tickets that are on the critical path for upcoming software releases\nEscalate risks and decisions needed to the heads of PMO\nCloud technical program management\nDrive tactical sprint execution for the cloud-gateway service on the vehicle software team\nWork with the engineering manager and developers to ensure a steady flow of actionable tickets are groomed and ready for implementation\nDefine and maintain a long-term roadmap for the cloud relevant integrations\nWork with cloud partners to finalize vehicle-cloud data contracts for all relevant integrations\nWork with middleware partners to finalize cloud-gateway interfaces with the rest of the vehicle\nRequired Qualifications\nBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field\n5+ years of technical program management on software products, with time spent on both release management and sprint-level execution\nDemonstrated ownership of a software release process: defining health metrics, tracking critical path items to closure, running daily status, and driving go/no-go decisions\nExperience running agile execution alongside an engineering manager, including backlog grooming and writing tickets that are genuinely actionable for developers\nWorking knowledge of client-server and cloud integration patterns, with direct experience defining or governing data contracts and API interfaces between systems\nExperience coordinating across partner teams and external vendors to close interface definitions, not just track them\nAbility to escalate clearly and early to executive stakeholders, with the judgment to know which risks belong at that level\nStrong written communication, comfortable producing both a daily update and a long-term roadmap\nPreferred Qualifications\nAutomotive software experience, particularly infotainment, telematics, or connected vehicle services\nFamiliarity with vehicle-to-cloud architectures: gateway services, message schemas, MQTT or gRPC, REST APIs, and data contract versioning\nExposure to vehicle middleware and the interfaces between a gateway service and the rest of the vehicle software stack\nExperience with over-the-air update programs or connected features such as remote lock and unlock, vehicle status, or vehicle tracking\nBackground working with a major cloud provider's IoT or device management services\nFamiliarity with Automotive SPICE, functional safety, or cybersecurity requirements as they touch software release readiness\nTooling: Jira, Confluence, and dashboard or reporting tools used for release health metrics\nPrior experience in a split or dual-scope TPM role, or scaling a part-time scope into a full program\nSalary Range\n$145,000 - 161,000\nThe actual salary offered is dependent on various factors including, but not limited to, location, the candidate’s combination of job-related knowledge, qualifications, skills, education, training, and experience \nAll qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment and will not be discriminated against on the basis of race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, disability, protected veteran status, age, genetic information, or pregnancy.\nPlease beware of job seeker scams and see this important notice on our careers page for more information about our recruiting process.\nCompliance Notice: Alten USA is a federal contractor subject to the requirements of the Vietnam Era Veterans’ Readjustment Assistance Act (VEVRAA) and Executive Order 11246.
