This role ensures adherence to global trade laws, aligns regional processes with corporate standards, drives operational efficiency, and supports internal stakeholders in navigating complex trade environments.\nThe ideal candidate possesses deep knowledge of regional customs regulations, strong stakeholder management skills, and the ability to lead trade initiatives across multiple countries.\nKey Responsibilities\nTrade Compliance & Governance\nLead and manage trade compliance programs across APAC in alignment with Altera’s global trade policies.\n\nMonitor and interpret regional trade regulations, including classification, valuation, origin, licensing, and export controls.\n\nEnsure compliance with U.S. Export Administration Regulations (EAR), local customs and exportrules, and free trade agreements.\n\nConduct periodic audits and self-assessments; drive corrective and preventive actions.\n\nMaintain product classification data (HTS, ECCN), administer license and permit requirements,and ensure accurate regulatory documentation.\n\nOperational Execution\nOversee daily import/export operations, supportLogistics fortimely and compliant customs clearance.\n\nLiaise with customs brokers, and government agencies to resolve trade issues.\n\nSupport supply chain, manufacturing, and logistics teams with trade-related guidance.\n\nOptimize tradeprocesses to reduce lead times, costs, and risks.\n\nRisk Management & Process Improvement\nIdentify trade risks and implement mitigation strategies.\n\nDrive continuous improvement across regional trade processes and digital tools.\n\nLead compliance training for internal teams and external partners.\n\nCross-Functional Collaboration\nPartner with Legal, Supply Chain, Procurement, Sales, and Product teams to support business initiatives.\n\nProvide trade compliance guidance for regional expansions, or supply-chain changes.\n\nSupport internal investigations related to potential compliance breaches.\n\nQualifications:\nQualifications & Experience\nBachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, International Trade, Business, or related field (Master’s preferred).\n\n7+ years of experience in trade compliance or import/export operations within technology, electronics, or semiconductor industries.\n\nStrong knowledge of APAC customs regulations (India and/or Malaysia preferred).\n\nExpertise in U.S. export control laws (EAR), localdual-use regulations, and local licensing regimes.\n\nExperience working with brokers, freight forwarders, and governmental agencies.\n\nProven track record of leading regional trade initiatives or programs.\n\nSkills & Competencies\nExcellent understanding of HTS classification, ECCN, COO rules, and FTA utilization.\n\nStrong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.\n\nEffective communicator with the ability to engage stakeholders at all levels.\n\nProject management experience with ability to lead multi-country initiatives.\n\nProficiency in trade systems (SAP GTS, OCR EASE, Oracle GTM, Descartes, or similar) is a plus.\n\nTravel Requirements\nOccasional regional travel (10-20%)
