Proven experience supporting high-performance computing (HPC) workloads and high-throughput, scalable storage is a core requirement for this role.\nKey Responsibilities\nAWS Cloud Architecture & Engineering\nDesign, deploy, configure, and maintain AWS infrastructure across accounts and environments. \nArchitect highly available, resilient, and scalable solutions using AWS best practices. \nManage EC2, VPC, S3, EBS, EFS, RDS, ELB, Auto Scaling, Route 53, and related services. \nDesign connectivity between AWS, corporate locations, and engineering environments. \nEstablish architecture standards and reusable patterns; support migrations and modernization. \nInfrastructure as Code & Automation\nDevelop and maintain Terraform provisioning, reusable modules, and automated environment deployments. \nImplement infrastructure CI/CD using GitHub Actions, Jenkins, AWS CodePipeline, or equivalent. \nAutomate operational tasks with Python, Bash, AWS CLI, and APIs. \nMaintain version-controlled infrastructure configuration and documentation. \nCloud Operations, Reliability & Performance\nOwn AWS operations, monitoring, troubleshooting, and incident resolution. \nImplement proactive observability using CloudWatch, CloudTrail, and related tools. \nInvestigate performance, capacity, availability, and service disruptions. \nImplement backup, disaster recovery, business continuity, and resilience. \nParticipate in incident response, root-cause analysis, and corrective actions; improve SLOs. \nCloud Security & Governance\nImplement Zero Trust-aligned and least-privilege AWS architectures. \nManage IAM, federation, encryption, and secure access controls. \nUse AWS KMS, Security Hub, GuardDuty, AWS Config, and related services. \nPartner with Cybersecurity on vulnerabilities, posture management, remediation, and compliance. \nSupport secure configuration standards, audits, and access reviews. \nEngineering Infrastructure Enablement\nPartner with semiconductor engineering teams on compute, storage, and performance needs. \nSupport AWS for engineering applications, automation, development, testing, and data-intensive workloads. \nEvaluate HPC, batch processing, and scalable compute where appropriate. \nOptimize storage throughput, network performance, and compute utilization. \nSupport secure hybrid integration while balancing performance, availability, security, and cost. \nCloud Cost Optimization & FinOps\nMonitor and optimize AWS consumption and costs. \nImplement tagging, cost allocation, budgets, and usage reporting. \nIdentify right-sizing, Savings Plans, Reserved Instances, and storage lifecycle opportunities. \nBuild cost dashboards and partner with teams on utilization improvements. \nHPC & High-Performance Storage Engineering\nArchitect and operate HPC compute environments, including workload schedulers, batch processing, cluster capacity, and performance troubleshooting. \nDesign high-throughput shared storage for engineering workloads, including Amazon FSx for Lustre, EFS, S3, and appropriate on-premises NFS or parallel file systems. \nOptimize storage IOPS, throughput, latency, data movement, and network performance for compute-intensive workloads. \nPlan HPC/storage resilience, monitoring, capacity, and cost; partner with engineering teams on workload benchmarks and performance requirements. \nThe pay range below is for Bay Area California only. equivalent experience. \n8+ years in infrastructure, systems, cloud engineering, or related technical roles. \n5+ years of hands-on AWS infrastructure engineering and production operations. \nStrong AWS networking, compute, storage, identity, security, and monitoring knowledge. \nAbility to independently design, deploy, and troubleshoot production AWS environments. \nHands-on Terraform and Infrastructure as Code experience. \nPython, Bash, or similar scripting proficiency. \nLinux administration; TCP/IP, DNS, routing, VPN, firewalls, and hybrid connectivity. \nCI/CD, Git workflows, infrastructure automation, incident management, RCA, and disaster recovery. \nStrong technical ownership, documentation, and cross-functional communication. \nDemonstrated hands-on experience designing, deploying, and troubleshooting HPC clusters or batch-compute environments in AWS or hybrid infrastructure. \nStrong experience implementing and optimizing high-performance shared storage (for example FSx for Lustre, EFS, NFS, or parallel file systems), including throughput, latency, and capacity planning. \nPreferred Qualifications\nAWS Solutions Architect - Professional or DevOps
