This role serves as the primary functional expert bridging business requirements with Workday's technical capabilities, ensuring our HR technology landscape scales with organizational growth while maintaining best-practice configurations across core modules.\nKey Responsibilities\nServe as the lead functional architect for Workday, translating business requirements into scalable, sustainable solution designs across HCM modules\nDesign and configure business processes, security groups, calculated fields to support HR, Benefits, Talent, Compensation, and Security functions\nPartner with HRBPs, Talent Acquisition, Compensation, and other stakeholders to gather requirements and recommend Workday-native solutions before pursuing customizations\nDesign and maintain the Workday security framework, including domain/business process security policies, security groups (role-based, job-based, user-based), segregation-of-duties controls, and periodic access audits\nProvide architectural guidance on complex initiatives such as mergers/acquisitions, org restructures, multi-country rollouts, and new module implementations\nDevelop and maintain documentation including design specs, configuration workbooks, business process maps, and security matrices\nMentor junior analysts and configuration specialists; act as escalation point for complex functional and security issues\nEnsure data integrity, compliance, and audit-readiness across all Workday modules\nEvaluate and recommend new Workday modules/functionality aligned to business strategy\nThe pay range below is for Bay Area California only. Actual salary may vary based on a number of factors including job location, job-related knowledge, skills, experiences, trainings, etc. We also offer incentive opportunities that reward employees based on individual and company performance.\n$107.5K - $155.6K USD\nWe use artificial intelligence to screen, assess, or select applicants for the position. Applicants must be eligible for any required U.S. export authorizations.\nQualifications:\nRequired Qualifications\nBachelor's degree in Human Resources, Information Systems, Business, or related field (or equivalent experience)\n7+ years of hands-on Workday HCM experience, including at least 3 years in a solutions architect, lead configuration, or senior functional consultant capacity\nDeep functional expertise across multiple Workday modules, such as: Core HCM (Business Processes, Organizations, Staffing Models)\nAdvanced Compensation\nBenefits Administration\nAbsence Management\nTalent & Performance Management\nRecruiting\n Security (Domain & Business Process Security, Segregation of Duties)\n Reporting (Advanced Reporting, Calculated Fields, Dashboards)\n\nProven experience leading full-cycle Workday implementations, module rollouts, or major transformation projects\nStrong understanding of integration tools (EIB, Core Connectors, Studio) and reporting/BIRT tools\nExcellent stakeholder management and consulting skills;
