This position is remote-friendly.\nPosition Overvie w\nWe're looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join our Data Plane Transport team within Cloud Platform Engineering. Our team builds and operates foundational services that enable secure, reliable communication between Alteryx Cloud, data planes, and customer environments.\nOur work includes Data Bridge, which enables customers to securely access private data sources, along with shared platform services for connectivity, networking, registration, and orchestration across distributed cloud environments.\nThis is a hands-on, backend-focused engineering role, primarily developing services and APIs in Go, with some opportunities to contribute to frontend applications using TypeScript and React.\nYou'll take ownership of complex technical initiatives, drive solutions from design through production, influence technical decisions, and help mentor and support other engineers.\nKey Responsibilities\nDesign, develop, and maintain scalable, reliable backend services, APIs, and distributed systems, primarily using Go.\nLead the design and implementation of secure connectivity solutions involving service registration, orchestration, routing, and proxy/relay-based communication.\nOwn complex technical initiatives end-to-end, including solution design, implementation, testing, deployment, and production support.\nDesign and improve cloud-native services across AWS and GCP, with an emphasis on scalability, reliability, security, and operational efficiency.\nContribute to frontend applications and platform management experiences using TypeScript and React when needed.\nInvestigate and resolve complex issues spanning application code, cloud infrastructure, networking, and multiple distributed services.\nDrive improvements in automated testing, system observability, monitoring, and operational readiness.\nLead and contribute to technical design discussions, code reviews, and architectural decisions while mentoring other engineers.\nCollaborate closely with Product, Architecture, Infrastructure, Security, and other engineering teams to deliver cross-functional solutions.\nParticipate in an on-call rotation, troubleshooting production issues, identifying root causes, and driving improvements that prevent recurring problems.\nRequired Qualification s\n5+ years of professional software engineering experience, or equivalent relevant experience.\nStrong backend development experience using Go or a comparable backend language, with the ability to become productive in Go.\nExperience designing, building, and operating production services using REST APIs, microservices, and distributed system architectures.\nHands-on experience developing and operating cloud-native applications in environments such as AWS or GCP.\nSolid understanding of networking fundamentals, including HTTP/TLS, TCP/IP, DNS, and service-to-service communication.\nExperience designing systems for scalability, reliability, fault tolerance, and failure recovery.\nAbility to independently investigate and troubleshoot complex issues spanning application code, infrastructure, and multiple services.\nExperience with automated testing, CI/CD pipelines, Git, and modern software\ndevelopment practices.\nStrong problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills, with the ability to\nindependently drive technical decisions and complex engineering work.\nBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, a related field, or equivalent practical experience.\nPreferred Qualifications\nExperience with TypeScript, React, or similar frontend technologies.\nExperience with Docker, Kubernetes, Helm, Terraform, or other cloud-native tooling.\nExperience with cloud networking technologies such as AWS PrivateLink, GCP Private Service Connect, VPC networking, proxies, or secure tunneling.\nExperience with event-driven architectures and messaging technologies such as Kafka, Redis, or Pub/Sub.\nFamiliarity with observability tools such as Datadog, metrics, logging, and distributed tracing.\nExperience with security concepts such as authentication, certificates, secrets\nmanagement, and encryption.\nExperience building cloud platform services involving provisioning, orchestration, resource lifecycle management, or secure connectivity.\nExperience with multi-cloud environments, multi-tenant SaaS platforms, or enterprise security requirements.\nAlteryx is committed to fair, equitable, and transparent compensation.
