Today, infrastructure is run by a managed service provider, and DevOps work is handled piecemeal across IT, vendors and developers. The engineering team is growing quickly, and we need one person who owns how code gets from a developer's machine to production, safely and repeatably.\nYou will own our environments, deployment pipelines and infrastructure standards, and serve as the technical authority directing our managed service provider on production. You will set and hold the balance between developer productivity and security in a HIPAA-regulated environment as the team scales.\nThis is a hands-on role. You will build things yourself, not only write policy.\n\nWhat You'll Own\nEnvironments & Infrastructure\nOwn development, test and staging environments end to end: provisioning, configuration, access and cost\nDefine the target architecture and standards for production, and direct the managed service provider's work against them\nManage infrastructure as code across Azure, plus a smaller AWS footprint\nIsolate environments so production data stays in production, and provide realistic masked or synthetic data for development and testing\nCI/CD & Release\nBuild and maintain CI/CD pipelines for .NET applications and supporting services\nOwn release mechanics: deployment automation, rollback readiness and environment promotion\nBecome the single intake point for infrastructure and environment requests from the development teams\nSecurity & Compliance\nImplement least-privilege access, secrets management and audit logging that meet HIPAA requirements\nWork with IT and security on endpoint and network controls so developers can work effectively without weakening protection\nKeep infrastructure and access documentation current enough to pass an audit\nReliability & Support\nSet up monitoring, alerting and logging so issues are caught early and routed to the right people\nWrite the runbooks, escalation paths and setup documentation the managed service provider uses to support systems after hours, on weekends and on holidays\nLead incident response and post-incident review for platform issues\n\nWhat We're Looking For\nRequired\n5+ years in DevOps, platform engineering or SRE, including ownership of production environments\nDeep hands-on Azure experience: networking, identity (Entra ID), compute and app hosting, Key Vault, Azure Monitor\nInfrastructure as code with Terraform or Bicep\nCI/CD with Azure DevOps or GitHub Actions, ideally for .NET workloads\nContainers: Docker required, Kubernetes or AKS a strong plus\nScripting in PowerShell plus Bash or Python\nExperience securing environments that handle sensitive or regulated data\nExperience directing or working closely with an external infrastructure provider\nClear written documentation habits; your runbooks will be used by people you are not in the room with\nPreferred\nHIPAA, SOC 2 or HITRUST experience\nAWS experience\nSalesforce deployment pipelines or other enterprise SaaS release management\nTest data masking or synthetic data generation\nSupporting AI or LLM-based workloads, and using AI-assisted tooling in your own work\nBackground in healthcare, RCM, fintech or another high-volume operational environment\n\nWhat This Isn't\nThis is not a 24/7 on-call role. Part of the job is building the documentation and monitoring that let our managed service provider handle off-hours support, so the company does not depend on one person being reachable at all hours.\nIt is also not a ticket-taking role.
