Our new team member will assist with rental tasks for New England’s premier JCB equipment dealer to identify customer needs, coordinate pick-ups, and perform inventory control for our rental department. \n\nThe primary responsibilities of the position consist of, but are not limited to:\nReceive and qualify incoming rental inquiries, identify customer needs, prepare quotes, and partner with assigned sales team members.\nEstablish new customer accounts by collecting required credit applications, rental forms, certificates of insurance, and upfront payments.\nExplain available rental protection options and ensure customer documentation remains accurate and current.\nCreate and maintain rental, demo, and internal contracts, including signed agreements and supporting documentation within company systems.\nCoordinate JCB equipment availability, transfers, freight, delivery, return, and fleet tracking.\nPartner with the service department to ensure rental equipment is maintained, inspected, and ready for customers.\nReview equipment returns, inspection results, service work orders, damages, miscellaneous charges, and insurance claims.\nManage rental receivables by following company credit and COD policies, reviewing past-due accounts, processing payments, and issuing approved credits.\nProcess purchase orders, trucking and re-rental invoices, and manual sales invoices as needed.\nMonitor fleet utilization, repair and maintenance expenses, and freight recovery through company reporting tools.\nParticipate in weekly rental meetings and contribute ideas that improve rental operations.\nMaintain strong customer relationships, support walk-in customers and the outside sales team, and provide guidance on JCB equipment and rental solutions.\nIncorporate Alta’s Guiding Principles into daily activities and perform other duties as assigned.\nMaintain consistent, regular, and reliable attendance, including being ready for work at the designated start time.\n\nDesired Skills and Qualifications:\n1 year of construction experience preferred\nExcellent time management skills\nUpbeat & positive attitude\nAbility to multi-task in a fast-paced environment\nExcellent communication skills - both verbal and written\nKnowledge of construction equipment, JCB products, or similar industry\nGood computer skills with a focus on Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook\nLanguage Skills - Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization.\nReasoning Ability - Intermediate; Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
