You will play a critical role in supporting our data science and engineering teams by providing expert-level administration, troubleshooting, and optimization of the Databricks platform.\nResponsibilities:\nPlatform Administration:\nAdminister and maintain Databricks workspaces deployed on AWS, including user management, cluster configuration, and resource allocation.\nMonitor platform performance, identify bottlenecks, and implement optimization strategies.\nManage and troubleshoot Databricks clusters, jobs, and notebooks.\nImplement and enforce best practices for Databricks usage and governance.\nManage Databricks SQL warehouses and jobs.\n AWS Integration:\nLeverage AWS services (e.g., S3, IAM, EC2, VPC) to ensure seamless integration with the Databricks platform.\nConfigure and manage AWS networking and security for Databricks environments.\nOptimize data storage and retrieval using AWS S3 and other relevant services.\nUnderstand and implement AWS security best practices related to Databricks.\n Security and Compliance:\nImplement and maintain security policies and procedures for the Databricks platform.\nEnsure compliance with relevant industry standards and regulations (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA).\nManage access control and permissions using Databricks and AWS IAM.\nConduct regular security audits and vulnerability assessments.\nTroubleshooting and Support:\nProvide expert-level troubleshooting for Databricks platform issues.\nDiagnose and resolve performance, connectivity, and security problems.\nSupport data science and engineering teams with platform-related inquiries and requests.\nCreate and maintain documentation for platform configurations and procedures.\n Automation and Optimization:\nDevelop and implement automation scripts and tools to streamline platform administration tasks.\nOptimize Databricks cluster configurations for performance and cost efficiency.\nImplement infrastructure-as-code (IaC) using tools like Terraform or CloudFormation.\nImplement CI/CD pipelines for Databricks deployments.\nCollaboration:\nWork closely with data engineers, data scientists, and other stakeholders to ensure platform alignment with business needs.\nCollaborate with AWS support and Databricks support to resolve complex technical issues.\nParticipate in on-call rotations as needed.\nQualifications:\nEducation: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.\n Experience:\nMinimum 10+ years of experience in data platform administration, with a focus on Databricks. \nExtensive experience managing Databricks environments on AWS.\nStrong understanding of AWS services and architecture.\nProven experience with cluster management, performance tuning, and security best practices.\nExperience with infrastructure-as-code (IaC) tools (e.g., Terraform, CloudFormation).\nExperience with CI/CD pipelines.\n Technical Skills:\nProficiency in Databricks administration and management.\nStrong knowledge of AWS services (S3, IAM, EC2, VPC, etc.).\nExperience with scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash).\nKnowledge of SQL and data warehousing concepts.\nFamiliarity with data governance and security principles.\nFamiliarity with Spark and related technologies.\nSoft Skills:\nExcellent problem-solving and analytical skills.\nStrong communication and collaboration skills.\nAbility to work independently and as part of a team. \nStrong attention to detail and a commitment to quality. \nAbility to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.\n Certifications (Preferred):\nAWS Certified Solutions Architect -
