Your contributions will help support the security and reliability of systems that Canadians depend on.\n\nYour Responsibilities\n\nDesign, develop, enhance, and maintain web-based applications using Java, JavaScript (React), and Python.\n\nSupport the modernization and transition of existing applications into a new analytical platform.\n\nDevelop front-end components and perform UX design activities using HTML and CSS.\n\nBuild and integrate back-end services and APIs using Java, Python, and GraphQL.\n\nConfigure, build, and deploy applications using technologies such as Spring, Gradle, Spark, AKS, and Apache Airflow.\n\nWork with relational databases, including MySQL and Oracle, to support SQL operations, database administration, and data migration.\n\nSkills and Qualifications\n\nMinimum 10 years of experience within the last 15 years working as a Programmer or Software Developer.\n\nMinimum 5 years of hands-on experience within the last 8 years developing web-based applications using Java and JavaScript, including React, with relational database backends.\n\nMinimum 3 years of hands-on experience within the last 8 years performing UX design activities, including HTML and CSS markup and styling.\n\nMinimum 2 years of hands-on experience within the last 7 years using integrated development environments, preferably Eclipse or IntelliJ.\n\nMinimum 2 years of hands-on experience within the last 7 years working with source code repositories such as Git.\n\nStrong understanding of full-stack application development, relational databases, and modern web technologies.\n\nStrong analytical, problem-solving, documentation, and communication skills.\n\nAdditional Assets\n\nExperience developing applications using Python within the last 8 years.\n\nExperience with build automation tools such as Ivy, Maven, or Gradle within the last 4 years.\n\nExperience working with GraphQL and JSON within the last 5 years.\n\nFamiliarity with Agile methodologies, including Scrum and Kanban, and collaboration platforms such as GitLab, GitHub, or Atlassian Confluence.\n\nWhy Partner with Altis\nIf you've never responded to a Government of Canada request, you're in good hands with Altis.
