We're looking for an experienced DBA to support a public sector organization in Winnipeg, where your expertise will help maintain reliable, secure, and efficient database environments.\n\nIn this role, you'll collaborate with technical teams to develop, maintain, and optimize databases that support essential services. You'll have the opportunity to contribute your SQL Server expertise while working in a collaborative environment that values quality, continuous improvement, and knowledge sharing.\n\nWhat's In It for You\n• A long-term contract opportunity with potential extensions.\n• A hybrid work environment offering flexibility after an initial onsite period.\n• Opportunities to work with diverse database technologies and contribute to meaningful technical initiatives.\n• A collaborative team environment where your expertise and ideas are valued.\n\nYour Responsibilities\n• You'll develop, modify, and maintain database code and SQL scripts to meet business and technical requirements.\n• You'll administer Microsoft SQL Server databases, supporting performance, reliability, and operational efficiency.\n• You'll perform database testing, troubleshooting, and validation to maintain data integrity.\n• You'll support OLTP and OLAP environments to enable transactional processing and analytical reporting.\n• You'll develop and maintain SSIS packages supporting data integration and transformation.\n• You'll collaborate with technical teams to support database enhancements, maintenance, and continuous improvement.\n\nSkills and Qualifications\n• 3+ years of professional experience as a Database Administrator.\n• Strong hands-on experience with SQL, Microsoft SQL Server, OLTP, OLAP, and SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS).\n• Experience with SQL Server Management Studio and database management tools such as TOAD, RazorSQL, or TablePlus is an asset.\n• Familiarity with architecture and development tools such as Eclipse or IntelliJ, and source control tools such as Git or Bitbucket.\n• Experience using collaboration tools such as Jira, Confluence, Trello, Basecamp, or Google Workspace.\n• Additional experience with DB2 administration, database schemas, maintenance, environment management, and capacity planning is an asset.\n• Knowledge of database encryption, key management, data classification, or Test Data Management (TDM) tools is considered an asset.\n\nWhy Partner with Altis\nIf you’ve never worked with a staffing agency before, we make it easy.
