This role demands a seasoned professional with deep expertise in industrial electrical systems, particularly within a plastics manufacturing environment. The position involves limited travel, focusing primarily on-site tasks to ensure the smooth and efficient operation of electrical infrastructure.Key Responsibilities\n1. Electrical System Maintenance:\nConduct inspections, troubleshoot, and repair electrical systems, components, and equipment, including motors, transformers, and control systems.\n\nPerform routine maintenance to ensure optimal performance and minimize downtime.\n\n2. Installation and Upgrades:\nLead the installation of new electrical systems and machinery, adhering to all relevant codes and standards.\nPlan and execute electrical upgrades to enhance facility efficiency and productivity.\n3. Safety and Compliance:\nEnsure all electrical work adheres to local, state, and national electrical codes and safety standards.\nImplement and uphold safety protocols to safeguard personnel and equipment.\n4. Project Management:\nManage electrical projects from start to finish, including budgeting, scheduling, and coordination with other departments.\nSupervise and mentor junior electricians and apprentices.\n5. Documentation and Reporting:\nMaintain precise records of all electrical work performed, including repairs, maintenance, and installations.\nPrepare reports on electrical system performance and suggest improvements.\n6. Collaboration:\nWork closely with engineering and production teams to support manufacturing processes and resolve electrical issues.\nProvide technical guidance and support to plant staff - locally and across the network - as needed.\nReasonable mandatory overtime may be required due to business needs.\n\nJob Knowledge, Skills and Abilities\nHigh school diploma or equivalent\nJourneyman Electrician license with a Master Electrician certification.\nMinimum of 5 years of experience in an industrial or manufacturing setting, preferably in plastics manufacturing.\nStrong knowledge of electrical codes, standards, and regulations.\nProficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.\nExcellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.\nAbility to work independently and collaboratively.\nStrong communication and interpersonal skills.\nFamiliarity with PLCs and automated systems is a plus.\nAbility to travel 10% to 20%.\nWork Environment\nWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. The noise level in the work environment and job site can be loud. Employee could be exposed to seasonal weather conditions if required to go outdoors.
