Directly supervises hourly employees assigned to the production department with emphasis on continued development to further enhance skill sets. Manages production department in accordance with State and Federal regulations. Ensures compliance with company policies and procedures. Ensures production department objectives are met to include projects, safety, quality, cost, and delivery.\n\nJob Duties and Responsibilities:\nProvide leadership and direction to production staff to produce rigid manufactured products, organize and monitor workflow, and ensure daily/weekly deliverables are met\nCollaboratively drive improvements through daily interaction with all employees on the production floor\nInspect jobs in process and at completion to ensure that standards of workmanship, quality, and safety are maintained\nDemonstrate a strong sense of urgency and transmit that sense of urgency to the production staff in a constructive fashion\nMaintains workflow by monitoring and upgrading processes, setting processing variables, observing control points and equipment, monitoring personnel and resources, studying methods, implementing cost reductions, developing reporting procedures and systems, facilitating corrections to malfunctions within process control points, and initiating and fostering a spirit of cooperation within and between departments.\nOrganize and prioritize work from production work orders, staffing requirements, estimate work hour requirements, and delegate work to employees in production department\nPlan, direct, and control the efforts of the production department to maintain plant equipment and facilities commensurate with good manufacturing practices that meet daily production requirements\nRecommend and plan equipment needs to improve production efficiency and/or achieve cost reduction through the utilization of CI enhancement tools \nActively lead/participate in Continuous Improvement initiatives (e.g., 5S, Kaizen, lean tools)\nPartner and collaborate in the development, scheduling, and control of the plant preventative maintenance program to maintain production equipment in proper working condition and ensure that equipment is ready to run when scheduled\nCollaborate with partnering departments to requisition materials, supplies, and services for the department\nEnsure that safety and quality requirements meet or exceed all regulatory agencies (i.e., USDA, FSA, OSHA, ADA, EPA) standards and comply with all Altium Packaging policies and or procedures\nEnsure that production equipment can produce within the specifications and tolerances established by the equipment manufacturer and process control specifications\nMonitor and report production key indicators to Production Manager and make recommendations for necessary changes to drive improvement\nKeep and update production records and procedures such as production and sanitation records, equipment manuals, SOPs, OPLs, JSAs, HSAs\nDevelop and maintain an effective department through proper selection, training and assignment of personnel capable of operating/maintaining all equipment and facilities in a safe and efficient working condition\nDevelop daily, weekly, monthly objectives and standards of performance for production within the Production Department required to meet departmental, customer, and organizational objectives\nParticipate in meetings or other communications with other departments regarding the resolution of ongoing problems, the implementation of new procedures or processes, or the development of new plans and designs\nAdhere to all Altium Packaging safety and food safety/quality policies and procedures and report any nonconformity\nAdhere to all GMP policies and procedures and report any nonconformity\nAvailable to respond to 24/7 emergencies\nThe requirements herein are intended to describe the general nature and level of work performed by employee, but is not a complete list of responsibilities, duties, and skills required.
