ISO 9000 and Automotive supplier experience preferred.\n\nJOB SUMMARY:\nThe Shipping Clerk will take ownership of all aspects of shipping and receiving function for a HDPE extruded plastics products factory. This includes safety, quality, receiving, shipping, inventory, keeping records and provide reports. The candidate must have hands-on technical background in a high-volume manufacturing environment with shipping and distribution experience. ISO 9000 and Automotive supplier experience preferred.\nESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:\nEnsure compliance with corporate and plant safety standards and with applicable laws and regulations issued by regulatory agencies.\nInspect in-coming materials and report damages and discrepancies for accounting, reimbursement and record-keeping.\nEnter shipping and receiving data into JD Edwards inventory system to create Bill of Ladings.\nAssemble orders and prepare material for shipment.\nRecord shipment data, including weight, charges, and space availability.\nDetermine method, destination, route, rate, and time of shipment.\nCoordinate the activities of other workers engaged in handling goods to be shipped or being received.\nInteract with freight carriers to ensure on time deliveries to customers.\nMay be responsible for the cleanliness of trucks and work area.\nLoad trucks and secure product in accordance with customer requirements.\nLoad and unload materials onto or off of pallets, skids, or lifting device.\nMonitor material usage on work floor and supply production lines with raw materials.\nWeigh materials or products and record results on tags, labels, or production schedules.\nKeep production lines supplied with raw materials.\nInventory product as needed. And label, sort, wrap and tie product.\nUnload and stack material by raising and lowering lifting device.\nOther duties as assigned by management.\nTap rail cars and coordinate with railroad on their movements.\nReasonable mandatory overtime may be required due to business needs.\n\nQualifications:\nPreferred:\nBachelor's degree (B.S.) in engineering discipline preferred\nShipping and logistics experience\nAttention to detail and meeting deadlines\nMathematical Skills: Ability to apply inventory control and continuous improvement tools.\nDemonstrated ability to meet safety, quality and production requirements\n\nTargeted Pay Rate:\n$20.00\n\nAltium Packaging, Our Culture Differentiates Us!\n\nWe incorporate our Guiding Principles into all aspects and at all levels of the organization and use them as a framework for decision-making.
