{"id":2279312,"url":"https://alion.io/job/altium-packaging-toolmaker-2nd-shift","title":"Toolmaker - 2nd Shift","company":{"id":2754184,"name":"Altium Packaging","domain":"altiumpkg.com","url":"https://alion.io/company/altiumpkg","size_band":"1001-5000","is_staffing_agency":false,"employer_type":"direct","is_intermediary":false,"listed_via":null,"ats_vendor":"Workday","truth_index":{"grade":"B","score":80,"open_postings":13,"ghost_share":0,"stale_share":1,"repost_share":0,"time_to_fill_p50_days":17,"computed_at":"2026-10-12T06:55:09Z"}},"role":"Industrial Engineering","role_family":"Industrial Engineering","seniority":"senior","employment_type":"full_time","work_mode":"on_site","remote_scope":null,"remote_scope_basis":null,"remote_working_hours":null,"hiring_geo_confidence":"structured","locations":["United States"],"countries":["US"],"hiring_countries":[],"hiring_countries_total":0,"salary":null,"salary_estimate":{"min_usd":83000,"max_usd":157000,"period":"year","method":"role_seniority_country_remote_cell","sample_n":5037},"experience_years_min":5,"visa_sponsorship":false,"relocation_package":false,"has_equity":false,"technologies":[],"status":"live","first_seen_at":"2026-07-30T00:00:00Z","employer_posted_date":"2026-07-30","last_verified_at":"2026-10-12T07:46:49Z","board_verified":true,"closed_at":null,"days_open":74,"trust":{"level":"ok","repost_count":null,"flags":[],"days_open":74},"description":"Location Address:\n600 Vista Drive, Sparta, Tennessee 38583Work Shift:\n8hr-2nd Shift 2p-10:30p Sparta (United States of America)A Toolmaker is responsible for the disassembly, assessment, repair, and assembly of Blow and Injection Molding tooling to ensure optimal production performance.Essential Functions\nSafely operate all machinery, hand tools, and equipment.\n\nResolve tooling issues based upon production feedback.\n\nParticipate in tooling repairs and communicate all issues to senior staff.\n\nPerform specialty operations as requested by senior staff (milling, turning, welding, grinding, polishing, etc.).\n\nElectronically document all work performed for every mold.\n\nRead blueprints and utilize precision measurement devices (height gauges, bore gauges, micrometers, sine plates, gauge blocks, etc.) to verify components meet print specifications.\n\nRepair or request replacement parts as needed to maintain adequate inventory levels.\n\nAid production in troubleshooting tool and machine issues on the floor as requested by senior staff.\n\nUse handheld tools such as screwdrivers, wrenches, hammers, socket sets, power tools, etc.\n\nTake the lead on individual tool projects and preventative maintenance projects.\n\nKeep work areas clean and organized to maintain a safe work environment.\n\nAbility to work overtime or fill absences as needed based on the needs of the business.\n\nFollow all safety requirements.\n\nReasonable mandatory overtime may be required due to business needs.\n\nQualifications\nHS Diploma/GED\n\n5+ years’ experience in Tool & Die or related field.\n\nTechnical Certificate from Trade School preferred.\n\nProficiency with precision measurement tools.\n\nExperience operating Tool & Die machinery: lathes, mills, grinders, welders, etc.\n\nOverhead Crane/rigging experience.\n\nExperience with hot runner injection and stretch blow molding preferred.\n\nWork Environment\nWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts, and vibration.
