Drives compliance with standard operating procedures and policies, such as Safety, Quality, GMP, and CPS.\nChampions a safety culture, ensures a safe work environment, and promotes safe behavior.\nMonitors environment and becomes aware of conditions that may affect employee safety and security; takes corrective action.\nCommunicates to ensure employees learn and comply with specifications, blueprints, job orders, and company policies.\nPrepares training plans and conducts or assigns safety, maintenance, machine operation and quality assurance training to new employees.\nPrepares documentation and provides performance feedback to introductory employees.\nProvides feedback to plant leaders concerning employee performance and behavior.\nEnsures employees have required tools, supplies and area to exercise their duties.\nRecords shipment data, including weight, charges, and space availability.\nDetermines method of shipment by examining items to be shipped, destination, route, rate, and time of shipment.\nOther duties and roles maybe assigned by plant management.\nReasonable mandatory overtime may be required due to business needs.\n\nQualifications\nRequired\nHigh School Diploma or GED.\nExperience operating forklifts in a warehouse or manufacturing environment.\nExperience backing, maneuvering, and positioning 53-foot trailers.\nAbility to work independently with minimal supervision.\nStrong communication and organizational skills.\nAbility to perform basic paperwork and shipping documentation.\nLeadership experience.\nPreferred\nPrevious Yard Jockey, Yard Spotter, Dock Worker, Warehouse Associate, or CDL Driver experience.\nOSHA Forklift Certification.\nExperience in a manufacturing or distribution environment.\nCDL is not required.\nPhysical Requirements\nAbility to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.\nFrequently sit, stand, walk, bend, and climb in and out of yard trucks and forklifts.\nAbility to lift up to 50 pounds.\nAbility to safely operate forklifts and yard-moving equipment throughout the shift.\nIdeal Backgrounds\nYard Jockey / Spotter\nDock Worker\nWarehouse Associate with trailer-moving experience\nFormer CDL Driver looking for a local, home-daily position\nShipping & Receiving Associate with forklift experience\nAltium Packaging, Our Culture Differentiates Us!\n\nWe incorporate our Guiding Principles into all aspects and at all levels of the organization and use them as a framework for decision-making.
