You will design, build and operationalise enterprise-grade AI solutions using Microsoft Azure AI Foundry, working directly with client stakeholders to turn business problems into scalable, production-ready AI systems. This senior role combines hands-on development, architectural thinking and the ability to lead AI workstreams and mentor others.\nRequired Tasks\nLead discovery sessions and translate business use cases into AI solution designs.\nOwn delivery of secure, production-ready AI workstreams for clients.\nBuild AI solutions in Azure AI Foundry, including model orchestration, prompt engineering, evaluation and agent patterns.\nDevelop RAG solutions, vector search and embedding pipelines using Azure OpenAI and Azure AI Services.\nIntegrate AI with Fabric, Azure SQL, Cosmos DB and ADLS.\nBuild scalable AI backends and APIs.\nImplement CI/CD, monitoring and model lifecycle management.\nApply responsible AI, security and POPIA/GDPR requirements.\nContribute to delivery accelerators and standards.\nRequirements\nDegree in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science or related field.\n8-10+ years' experience in software engineering, data engineering or AI/ML.\nProven experience taking AI solutions from prototype to production.\nHands-on Azure AI Foundry, Azure OpenAI (GPT, embeddings, function calling) and Azure AI Services.\nStrong Python and/or .NET.\nExperience with RAG, vector search and prompt pipelines.\nAPI design, backend development and Git-based workflows.\nCI/CD and monitoring for AI workloads.\nStrong stakeholder management and communication skills.\nAzure AI Engineer, Azure Developer or Foundry certifications advantageous.\nGeneral Comment/s\nThe ideal candidate is a pragmatic, delivery-focused problem solver with strong ownership, high integrity and a passion for continuous learning, who is comfortable working under client delivery pressure.\nNote: This version of the job description has been kept concise to accommodate system text limitations.
