Key Responsibilities:
1. Structured Approach and Process Adoption:
- Apply a structured approach to all design work.
- Embrace and fully utilize the processes implemented by department heads.
2. Learning and Development:
- Fully understand and continually improve the overall design process for projects.
- Explore new technologies, trends, tools, and methodologies, implementing them in collaboration with the Head of Design and UX Directors.
- Clearly explain processes and mentor Senior Interface Designers working on your projects.
3. Project Leadership:
- Successfully manage medium-complexity projects and small teams, including working on high-profile projects.
- Kick off new projects effectively, setting clear direction and structure from day one.
- Navigate ambiguity confidently, proactively reducing uncertainty for the team and client.
- Work autonomously and take full ownership and accountability for the results of your work.
- Proactively identify potential problems and risks, and propose solutions before they escalate.
- Efficiently manage the team’s time and resources within project constraints, ensuring adherence to project budgets and rate caps.
- Lead at least one Senior Interface Designer on each project, effectively delegating tasks among other designers.
- Foster strong, trust-based relationships with clients to encourage future collaboration.
- Ensure all design work meets world-class standards, using best practices and established design principles.
4. Design Execution:
- Ensure all design deliverables are technically proven and development-driven, working closely with engineers to validate feasibility and hand off implementation-ready designs.
- Focus on creating business-oriented designs that effectively address business needs and goals.
- Guarantee that every design produced is consistent, contributes to and scales the team's design system, and is ready for client handoff.
- Inspire and motivate the team to deliver outstanding results, even in challenging projects, ensuring top-tier quality throughout.
- Utilize discovery frameworks effectively.
- Bring a strong, well-developed sense of design taste to every project, elevating visual and interaction quality beyond baseline standards.
Requirements:
- Proven experience leading design teams and managing medium-complexity projects.
- 4+ years of overall design experience, including 1-2+ years in a leadership or mentoring role.
- Expertise in discovery frameworks such as user research, competitor analysis, and best practices review.
- Ability to mentor and guide Senior Interface Designers.
- Strong client communication and relationship-building skills.
- A deep understanding of design best practices, technical design principles, and business-oriented approaches.
- Experience with fintech, banking, or other enterprise-level products.
- Working knowledge of AI-assisted design workflows across the core stages of the design process, from gathering and validating information and conducting research to generating and validating design solutions, including using AI for research analysis/synthesis and automating routine tasks (e.g., documentation, handoff).
- Basic understanding of code, with the ability to quickly validate ideas through live prototypes (a.k.a. vibe coding).
- Solid understanding of accessibility principles and standards.
- English level: B2 (Upper-Intermediate) or higher.
