OF POSITION\n\nMaintain operation of machinery and mechanical equipment in Manufacturing, Packaging, PDTS, and Supply Chain (Exclusive of High Rise and Material Handling Jacks and Fork Lifts) by completing preventive maintenance requirements, performing mechanical repairs, work orders, and troubleshooting following diagrams, sketches, operations manuals, manufacturer's instructions, and engineering specifications.\nORGANIZATION STRUCTURE\nThe Industrial Maintenance Mechanic reports directly to their Operations Shift Manager.\nRESPONSIBILITIES\n\nPrimary responsibilities of this role include the following:\nTroubleshoot, repair or maintain the operating condition of industrial production or processing machinery. \nDisassemble, repair or replace broken or malfunctioning components of equipment such as bearings, chain and mechanical drives, belt drives, pulleys, sprockets, gears, levers, cranks, linkages, springs, shaft couplers, brakes, clutches, cams, followers, cylinders, pumps, hydraulic/pneumatic systems, pneumatic devices, lock out valves, filters, regulators, air lines, adjust/replace mechanical sensors, limit switches, and prox switches. \nIdentify faulty equipment through observation and systematic testing.\nAssess the condition of used parts using micrometers, calipers, machinist rulers, depth gauges, feeler gauges, dial indicators, screw pitch gauges, squares/levels, and specifications.\nAble to safely select and work from ladders, lifts, and platforms as required\nObserve and test the operation of machinery to diagnose malfunctions. \nReassemble equipment after completion of inspections, testing or repairs. \nClean, lubricate, or adjust parts, equipment. \nSafely operate fork lifts, power tools, hoists and hand tools such as hacksaws, files, punches, electric drills, taps/dies, pullers, drill press, bench grinder, cut off saw, band saw, hydraulic press, mechanical arbor press, chop saw, parts washer, belt/disc sander, etc. \nMove portable equipment with the use of pallet jacks, electric jacks, or forklift\nUncrate new equipment and dispose of crating and pallet materials \nMeasure and adjust pneumatic and hydraulic components utilizing appropriate instruments (air regulator/pressure gauge). \nVerify the adequacy of repairs. \nStudy blueprints or manufacturers’ manuals, data sheets, function charts, schematics to determine correct installation or operation of machinery. \nWork with the Stock Room personnel to maintain parts and tools inventory.\nSource replacement parts and perform repairs. \nWork with maintenance resources to maintain/update the equipment PM’s\nAttend daily shift meetings to prioritize work orders and minimize downtime.\nWork along with production scheduling to schedule preventive maintenance activities and provide estimated duration for the work being scheduled. \nMaintain pneumatics, hydraulics and mechanical knowledge via on-going training, industry workshops and technical reading when available.\nAbility to demonstrate flexibility in adapting to changes in priorities, work assignments, work conditions and other interactions that may impact preestablished courses of action for completing projects and assignments.\nAbility to identify information, materials, and resources needed to complete a project or assignment. \nAbility to work on multiple tasks or parts of tasks simultaneously to ensure timely completion of projects and other work activities. \nKnowledge of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) to safely complete work assignments.\nKnowledge of safe and responsible operation, maintenance, and organization required for tools and equipment used for Maintenance to protect self and others in the work place. \nAbility to perform basic Electrical Skills to allow safe disconnection of motors and components for repair and troubleshooting. \nESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS\nPhysical ability to perform tasks that may require prolonged standing, sitting, walking, bending, kneeling, squatting, twisting, pushing and pulling. \nReach and perform work above the head.\nUse hands for fine manipulation and repetitive tasks.\nClimb stairs/ladders/platforms, etc. on equipment for purposes of operating, maintaining and troubleshooting.\nLift objects up to 40 pounds without assistance or over 40 pounds with assistance.\nManipulate, tip, roll, and place a drum weighing up to 200 pounds onto scales and pallets.\nUse basic hand tools such as wrenches, screwdrivers, pliers, hammers, and other hand tools as required.\nOperate high speed equipment.\nUse basic math skills for batch record calculations & analyze data.\nOperate a computer to input and access data.\nTroubleshoot and replace basic equipment components.\nMeet the requirements of safe operation and personal safety by understanding and properly using required personal protective equipment including PAPR and following safe practices.\nGive and discern the various visual and audible alarms and signals for equipment startup, evacuation, fires, etc.\nRead and apply SOP’s (Standard Operating Procedures) to daily work to meet cGMP (Good Manufacturing Practices) compliance. \nThe ability to effectively participate in decision making processes incorporating the following skills:\nConflict resolution\nProblem solving\nPlanning\nEffective communications\nTime management\nPriority setting\nMaintain accurate records and data\nRead, write legibly, and comprehend high school level material, as well as technical training materials on various operations and systems in the language that is the accepted norm for the site.\nKnow and use the terminology and functions of machines and components. \nMaintain acceptable attendance.\nComply with random drug testing.\nWork overtime as required as needed.\nDocumentation Expectations:\nRecord parts or materials used on the work order or breakdown sheet.\nPrepare maintenance reports and summary presentations following major repair events \nParticipate in process reliability data analysis and trends discussions with Engineering to determine root cause and next steps.\nWork with maintenance resources to continually update the equipment PM’s \nAuthor Change Controls and update PM’s accordingly\nQUALIFICATIONS\nMinimum Qualifications:\nMechanical Experience \nUnderstanding of hydraulics, pneumatics and mechanics\nTeam player and willing to work with minimal supervision\nAttention to Detail\nExcellent problem-solving and communication skills\nHigh school diploma or GED Comfortable with computers and the use of MS Office Suite programs\nCapable of operating hand, power and specialized tools\nPreferred Qualifications:\n3 years industrial maintenance or equipment mechanic experience \nAdvanced knowledge of hydraulics and pneumatics\nUnderstanding of electrical systems and automated equipment\nAdvanced technical or college training \nGMP DECISION-MAKING AUTHORITY\nProvide Technical input for investigations to determine possible causes, support root cause determination efforts, and develop/assign appropriate corrective actions.\nThe anticipated base hourly range for this position is $20-$40. This position is eligible for Alvogen’s annual discretionary bonus and comprehensive benefits package, consisting of medical and prescription drug coverage (two PPO plans and an HDHP with Health Savings Account and employer contribution), dental, vision, flexible spending accounts. Alvogen’s benefits package also includes a retirement savings program, long-term care coverage, paid time off (112 hours to start) inclusive of sick time, disability benefits, life insurance, a wellness program, and 13 company recognized paid holidays per year.
